As above, Linkin Park who are probably the only headliner missing from the Nova Rock poster today

That's not great in my opinion from Nova Rock, I have been tempted in the past but no chance even with LP added.

It's an easy one for me to cross off my list of potentials at least!

Absolutely lad, absolutely. I'm very gunning for Werchter currently. It's probably the festival that caters most for my music these days...it would just help if I was 10 years younger to deal with coming back from Glastonbury Monday and hopping out to Belgium for Werchter Wed. It will be one though ticket and lineup dependent where I'll get going Sunday night.

Yeah we're treating RW as the backup to not getting Glasto tickets I think. I'd do both (and die) but my mrs. gets pretty bad pains, doubt she'd be able to do the double.

I don't think I should really but with the names being put about it would be really hard not to. Could be a top line of 4 acts I wouldn't currently choose differently. The only act I'd probably ask for instead is Macca but I'm being greedy lol.

When to expect the first announcement???

Expecting Linkin Park to drop for Rock AM tomorrow which should open the floodgates a bit. Green Day already announced for stuff so I think you'll hear about them for RW first

Rock AM/IM are announcing 50 new bands tomorrow, Live Nation are doing Linkin Park's big 2025 festival tour and they run the festival. They're missing a headliner and I think have had to postpone their announcement, probably so LP can be announced elsewhere around the same time. It all lines up pretty well.

NovaRock is missing one headliner and they announce the last one mid november....

No idea if LP is Nova Rock but could well be. I don't think Live Nation run Nova Rock though. At the minute Nova looks pretty weak so it's gotta be something decent for the final day, it can't be Green Day, and Foos seem to be on hiatus.

RaR/RiP are not run by LiveNation. They are part of Eventim, same as Nova

Ohhh, interesting, no idea why I thought that was LN.

So if LN are running the Linkin Park tour I assume that means no LP for RAR/RIP/Nova?

Might be why Download don't have them either. Reading still could because FR is still a bit different.

Yeah I've been banking on L+R having LP for a while now. Easy double payday, hype name, 2000s rock throwback they always have, will get ~30 year olds who can afford pints in the arena.

I dont think Lana will play any shows in 2025., she just got married, looks like she is off for a year or so.

She's playing Anfield I'm pretty sure.

    • First time for me, really enjoyed it. Nice venue, nice weather, good vibes, etc.   Notes on performances: CMAT's a great performer - seen her live twice now.  GANS are my favourite new act since Big Special, and live they're fantastic. Fellow Brummies too, so I'm all about that. The album's a bit disappointing though. Primal Scream were great, although I felt the crowd seemed a bit muted. The Libertines sounded knackered. Not sure they're suited to a festival. First time seeing The Royston Club, thought they were very good - the tent seemed to be full of kids on each others shoulders singing along. I'm all about that. First time seeing the K's, a bit disappointed. Didn't like his voice, and I felt like every song sounded the same as the last one. Sarajevo is a good tune, though. It still sounds like all the others, just a bit better.  The Maccabees and Two Door Cinema club were a but underwhelming, but Pelican by the Maccabees is a banger. It all sounded a bit Travis/Early Coldplay to me though. The Wombats took me by surprise - I expected 1 1/2 hours of 'Let's Dance to Joy Division' style indie-landfill, so I was surprised to hear that some of the rest of their stuff had dynamics and range. I still don't think they're any good, but I can't say they didn't surprise me either. Just not my thing.   Surprise of the weekend for me was Rizzle Kicks. Never listened to them before, but they got me out of my tent and into the arena as I was trying to nurse a hangover and I thought it was a blast.    Will probably go next year too.
    • Not really anything to say other than the fact I'm down at Opeth and this has been a cracking summer by and large here. Few duds, plenty of sellouts, strong weather, and the craft beer is cheaper than the regular bar. Winner winner, chicken dinner!
    • Pink Floyd night on sky arts time for me  to wallow in nostalgia and remember some incredible gigs
