I saw one American Republican suggest LA's problems means it shouldn't be hosting the next Olympics and that they instead should be moved to Dallas or Miami.

 

That's Miami as in a city that's at risk of hurricanes all the way from June to November... not sure how exactly that's an improvement.

You say that, AI requires a lot of water to cool computer data centres - significantly more than regular Internet stuff did.

 

This was even discussed earlier this week as the UK government want to build an AI data centre just south of Oxford despite the fact Southern England and Oxfordshire in particular is seen as a water scarce region.

I mean are we all happier healthier little people with the internet and social media?...seems to me we're just totally dependent on it and everyone is getting sick in the head. If AI really going to be used to try to solve the climate crisis surely it will just shut itself down to save the planet and hopefully take down all of the fossil fuel power plants before it does so.
