2025 Headliners

I'll respectfully disagree, merely because it will take a little more mileage to discover so. I'm not saying it can't be iconic, but let's see what the staying power is. If it's a Fender-esque show of ascendancy, then absolutely. If it ends up being more Tame Impala in the long run, then perhaps not.

Honestly I don’t see Chappell going anywhere anytime soon, her following already massive and with what she’s fighting for and the voice she’s using to change, can’t see her just disappearing

Maybe so, or maybe not. The public is a fickle beast.

Personally, I think there will be a surprise on the lineup, be it one of the headliners of the Pyramid or the other stages/subs. For me, a few of the players in this round don’t make sense based on the fact that there’s no new music and no other announced dates (namely The 1975 and Loyle Carner). I’m not fussed on The 1975 and do like Loyle Carner (saw his WH set in 2023) but I wouldn’t want to bet on them making an appearance.

The 1975 might well have become a self-created prophecy at this point.

The fact that the trades have been reporting it for a few months - and doubled down in recent weeks - adds credence to it.

But I also remain unsure. Would love 'em to do it, think they're big enough and have the live chops - I've made no secret.

But as many have pointed out, something doesn't quite add up there.

Think the 1975 is the only potential headliner to not be on the bill, O-Rod nailed on I think and everything adds up.

1975 been quiet as of late, but then so were Arctic Monkeys when they headlined in 2013. Similar to that there's possibility of one or two singles before they play, and been a number of years since they were last at the farm. I'd love there to be a surprise in their place and I'll keep my fingers crossed that's the case.

That being said, the 3 Glastonbury's I've been to I was fortunate to have what I deemed to be 9 unmissable headliners across the 3 festivals, looking forward to having an excuse this year to be somewhere other than the Pyramid stage during the headliner slots! Is the South east corner any good that early on in the night?

Last year I had my best glasto out of the 6 I’ve been to, i believe that to be because I missed all the headliners or went to smaller ones like faithless at the glade, we ventured off down to south east corner and it was dead, had the best time, missed all the crushes to get in there, had no issues at all all weekend really, or we went and spent time in the theatre and circus fields and have found some new festival favourite acts

Just to stir the pot. The potential three nights in a row for O-Rod has always made me question if she is actually doing it.

With youth on her side I think she'd power through if one of the 3 nights was Glastonbury. Interesting thoughts though, is unusual for acts to do 3 on the bounce so could be a curveball coming there

I think she will and it'll be her but I am surprised she's planned it liek she has and that the Manchester promoters were okay with it as well. 4 gigs in 5 days with 3 of them together. 2 and 2 with a gap definitely made more sense.

My theory is she was down to do the Saturday and proved much less intransigent on availability than Neil Young

    • That leaker off Instagram was saying earlier this year that Nickelback are doing a tour with Broco and Wargasm, but no evidence as yet
    • Gojira are unoficially confirmed by the organisation at Hellfest since last December already.   Slayer was supposed to be this year as a Mainstage 2 headliner at the place of Volbeat for a thrash day but negotiations fell off. Very likely to be there next year.    MCR I didn't know about but it fits well with Hellfest's desire to keep one day as more punk/rock orientated.    Europe are a confirmed headliner for Sweden Rock 2027. They will not headline HF but we may seem them on the bill. I am very curious who will be the legacy bands next year at HF. There was some backlash after 2025 and a bit of a return to heavier metal on the bill in 2026 - e.g. Gatekeeper on the main stage. The only considerable legacy acts I see coming (if they are in Europe) and haven't been at HF for a while are Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Slash, FFDP (if you count them as legacy), ZZ Top, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. I really hope they manage to pull sth big for the 20th anniversary like AC/DC.
    • Looking forward to Doja Cat letting us all know what is going on later on today. It is a good job that somebody is keeping us informed.
    • They've got a few gigs in Dec/Jan.  Hoping to pick up a couple of tickets for Margate later today
