It's sad to see that Mad Cool cannot book IFEMA two years in a row but a brand new festival with no history can.

I thought the issue with Mad Cool is that they are owned by the same people who own the new site? IFEMA has redevelopment plans, so assume they had to move at some point.

If the idea was to give them somewhere to host lost term, cut costs by owning their own site at a cheaper location,, and also to make money from other events, then moving makes sense.

 

Even if IFEMA is still available, once the decision is made, it's unlikely to be worth going back. If they've invested in the new site, then they'll have a huge incentive to make it work long term. And let's not forget that they got a hell of a lot of criticism for some of the IFEMA based festivals, so if we're being generous, they do have the ability to learn 🙂

Yes. Ifema's parking lot.

 

And yes, they were kicked from that parcel next to IFEMA that will be used as part or the upcoming F1 track. Sure they invested in the new location and own 49% of it but this is the main reason why they moved.

Thinking of going by car from lisbon because the pearl jam & keane combo is just to good to pass.

 

Got a couple of questions if anyone can help me.

 

1 - Pearl jam will headline the main stage , are keane also playing the main stage or they might be relegated to some b stage at the same time as pearl jam?

 

2 - how is the go back from the festival? Is it safe to take the car or are there are buses /cab/ uber after the festival? Im trying to find an hotel so that would be great to know.

I think you are better of sending them a mail if they haven't been delivered mid june and you ask them to just pick them in the entrance (though you may have to face some long queues for it).

Jeez....Primavera Madrid, Cala Mijas, now this....

 

They love drama with their festivals here in Spain.

 

I really want them to move it from Vilaverde. Its a dump and last year was not enjoyable.

 

I do have tickets this year though....

metro from vilaverde alto to the city. thats what I used each day last year.

Much, much better compared to last year.

 

Easier entrance, more water points and toilets, better overall layout, less crowded, better sound, more shade, and more activities. They improved in almost every area, but the bar was very low, so it’s not like all perfect and it is still very hot obviously.

Looking at the schedule. I didn't realize you can only see 6 full acts a day max. At least everyone gets at least 60 minutes and there aren't that many 30-40 minute sets so you can get some deeper cuts

Good to hear. Im flying over for the killers and kooks on Saturday.

 

I predicted Spain would get to the Euros final too, so will be glad to watch that in Madrid on Sunday evening.

 

I have had at least one concert/festival a week since Primavera, I am wrecked.

I end up using vacation days for the festivals, but then need a proper vacation afterwards to recover 😅.

Glad to hear it’s much improved. Last year was dangerous at times. The toilet situation could only improve to be honest.
