The guardian believed it was real and referenced it in an article as a green transport solution.

I'maware of other people who thought it was a real thing.

the writing was mine,  but the monorail as april fool idea was a group effort round a campfire at glastonbury 2007 (i think), - i can only remember one of the other people there: @kerplunk

more amused than proud, cos they treated the story written here like the monorail was real. its in the guardian online, i'll see if i can find it. can't find the guardian referencing it.
