Katy J Pearson removed.

Confused as Crystal Tides now appearing both Friday and Saturday. Guessing a mistake.

Whoever does the social media needs a proof reader before sending out these comms

It’s on the app and website. As they are local it’s quite possible they would do both days (although a bit unusual given it’s the same stage) Mind you a lot of locals are day ticket holders. The discussion amongst many of my friends is ‘which day are you going to Victorious?’ So they wouldn’t mind the double slot

Think they’re doing both mate.  Ridiculous but true!

Just got a tweet back from Crystal Tides and they are infact playing both days.

They are playing Friday Castle and playing Twice on saturday on Castle and Beats and Swing.

Ive seen them quite a bit and they are very good, originally they were doing just sundya beats and swings but won the competition for smaller bands meaning they got 2 slots at Vicky and now with the drop off that adds them a 3rd slot

anyone stay at unite halls greetham street? is it a straightforward walk to common and what is best place thursday fi sat for music (band or dj) for late drink. cheers

I'm staying there this year. Would also like to know some places locally for a late night drink. I feel once the bands finish it'll feel relatively early and I won't be able to wind down.

It's about a 25 min walk, and Pompey is pretty flat so easy to stroll. You can also hire an electric scooter if you've got the Voi app (but they stop working at 10pm so you can't use them post fest).

Greetham Street is near Guildhall Walk, where all the nightclubs are, but I'd recommend Albert Road (very slight detour) or Elm Grove (on your way between the common and the halls).

All on this. Been last 2 years and gone straight back to campsite. Could do with a late night dance

Palmy Road (Palmerston Road) is usually busy afterwards. I wouldn't say that there were any "dance floor" type places as such, but bars with loud music yes.

Then you have Albert Road. Again less dance floor places but bars with music. One Eyed Dog usually is pretty good, I think Lord John Russell Southsea might have a dance floor going. We normally end up going to The Fox (formerly Fat Fox).

There's also Guildhall Walk, gets a bit rough down there but PopWorld is always good for a cheesy boogie. I think Astoria too? There's other bars with dance floors open later.

There's PRZYM but I've not been there in many years so can't vouch for it.

Gunwharf too, but not sure how busy Eden gets. There is the casino though. So not dancing but open late.

EDIT: Also if you're going back to the campsite, it's a fair way from town wherever you go and there won't be any other late night buses etc. You'll need to get a taxi/Uber. There are lots of Hackneys too. I wouldn't walk though as you'll need to effectively cross motorway/motorway entrance point.

dont need a dance floor as such as can boogie and sing in spot im stood in . just need a pub with a band or loud music(preferably indie/guitar) with good atmosphere and friendly happy people.

I'd definitely suggest more towards Albert Road way then. 🙂

Maybe next year I'll need to find somewhere on site where I can stash a bottle in advance 🤣

Time to remortgage! How many years until we're at a tenner a pint...!

Out of interest how easy is it to sneak your own booze in?

You will get searched on the way in, but I haven't had any problems sneaking in a bit of rum. Might be less subtle if you're trying to sneak in a 12 pack of beers though!

You can always nip out to the bars/shops on Palmerston Road for a quick 1, as long as you're back before 8pm.

I would say medium level difficulty. The security do check bags, but if you hide it effectively in a blanket or otherwise, they are not going to spend ages searching through. Don’t take glass though, as they will pat down bags (and it’s dangerous if left on the floor).
