Oggie has to be the most sustenance per pound, of actual decent food anyway.

I really like the Oggies. Me and my wife get one each, a meat one a vegetable one then swap half with each other. Bargain when Sunday comes around. I remember one year they were going for a quid each

At risk of opening up a can of worms here and mortally offending the Welsh/Cornish; what’s the difference between a pastie and an oggie?

As I understand it, traditionally the differences were that Cornish Pasty was made using beef skirt, potato, swede and onion whereas a Welsh Oggie was lamb, potato, swede and leek.

Oggie is also used in Cornwall too though, and Cornish Pasty bakers often have a lamb variant now, just as Welsh Oggie bakers often do a beef version.

Either way, the blasted things are responsible for at least 2 inches around my waistline! 😂

I presume this will be a small selection of smaller dishes?

small pot of mac

small loaded fries

That kind of thing? It’s great and should help people budget. But even a maccies meal is over £6 now so we can’t expect a decent sized and quality meal for a fiver.

I would expect them to be mainly stodgy side dishes that in desperate times you could make pass for a meal. I'd say you are probably better off getting CoOp food some days and when you eat from a vendor try and get a proper meal if you are budgeting.

I'll probably take a few more snacks than I usually do but otherwise will just be treating Glastonbury as my holiday. Luckily I don't drink so food is the only indulgence I need to worry about which makes it considerably more cost effective.

I am mentally prepared only by seeing how much my round of grocery shopping has increased. Even if those prices were in Euros I would find it steep, but everything is so I'll deal with it, so maybe I'll revert to mental ... Belgium Franks.

Half a pound of flour and rice makes a lovely Oggie,
Just enough for you and me,
Cor bugger janner.

Oh how happy us shall be,
When us gets to the Westcountry,
Where the Oggies grow on trees,
Cor bugger janner.

This is a traditional Westcountry rugby drinking song, so I’d say the terms are pretty much interchangeable.

    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
    • No argument that he’s bigger than ever, I just have no enthusiasm for it.
    • Keep in mind those crowds were full of teenagers. Glasto aint full of teenagers. Theres no way she could demand headline and get it because they got other acts to give the slot to who deserve it with a bigger catalog. Reading/Leeds would headline her cause its still LN.  If the fest was struggling its Other headline. But a 3rd down Pyramid is likely the landing spot. Itll go down like the Camila Cabello performance pretty much.
