Can we send Richard Murphy and Blanchflower on a sabbatical to Venezuela so they can have a go at living under the policies they are trying to push on the country?

You might as well support the Tories, like jezza will do.

I guess depends where those who are not voting labour because of right wing fascist starmer live...I don't know but I expect it is more graduate city dwellers..whereas labour really need to be winning outside the cities in red/blue wall and now in Scotland...and that's where kicking out corbyn might help them, as others on here have argued.

It’s odd that for the far left it’s always about Corbyn, they could move onto a less toxic person to lead their movement but no it’s always got to be Corbyn.

Totally hate those guys. Imagine wanting to drop interest rates and restart QE with inflation at 10 percent. They honestly sicken me.

Economics isn't an exact science, there are different opinions out there. This inflation isn't being driven by demand side, so why try fix on demand side when things so tough for many already?

its not that hes got a different opinion its cos he knows fuck all - which is obvious from what he says, he's an over-promoted tax return accountant.

Its cars I can't get over. £45k seems to be the new £25k, dealers are offering 11% APR finance on that and yet they are flying off the shelves.

That’s what I’ve been saying for ages but the BoE seemingly want to make people even poorer.

They’ve handled this crises appallingly.

I don't get why you don't just use this as another excuse to slate the Tories, you love doing that! The BoE is doing the things it should be doing... There's not really anything it can do about supply side issues (that's the government's job).

Still waiting on your proposed alternative as well, I reckon we'll see inflation coming down before that, though 😂

They should be reducing interest rates, to ensure people have more money at the moment to put back into the economy and ensure we get this fabled growth.

I’ve said it before but that would mean you wouldn’t have excuse to jump on one of my posts again.

Yeah so, that is the gamble isn't - raising interest rates invites the possibility of recession. But also, its not lower rates = more money (or more correctly, spending power). People won't have more money to put back into the economy if its being swallowed up by inflation. I'm sure I've said these things before, but you just don't seem to want to listen.

If im jumping on your posts, it's because you say things like "the BoE want to make people poorer." I agree with their approach, do you think that I want that too?

I wouldn't describe Yousaf as a socialist  although the policies he is espousing are a lot more socialist than anything from UK Labour.

My point is: in Scotland, you can call yourself a socialist & still get elected.

What cause he mentioned a wealth tax that he has no intention of actually doing lol?

He’s been elected by SNP members and even then barely scraped half (of those that could be arsed to vote). The snp are meant to be left wing.

Corbyn (an actual socialist) got 40 percent of the vote in an actual election from average joes.

elected leader of SNP...let's see how he does in next Scottish parliament election.

Corbyn is kind of socialist and he was elected leader of Labour (although things have changed somewhat!)

are Momentum sticking with Labour? I really wouldn't be surprised if there was a concerted effort to set up a new party after this...

Them and Boris’s mates - apparently launching a ‘Take Back Control of the Tories’ party - could maybe just focus on each other?

More volunteering tomorrow this time it's to help define the treatment regimes for stroke care using my experience to say what they could do better, I've got a few ideas that I think would help improve outcomes.

Nice one.  I am foolishly running the London Marathon in 3 weeks and raising money for the Stroke Association.  Hats off to anyone supporting their work and the like.
