Cameron has announced that UK and Germany now calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.

i guess he's happy with the wording being used. 🙂

feeling happy cos i've just found my  two smartwatches that i'd not seen for four months and thought they might be lost. 🙂

they're very good smartwatches with features that're wasted on me and  annoyingly short battery lives.

A couple of days ago I read of a palestinian baby with cerebral palsy. Starved to death because he needed special food that he wasn’t able to get, couldnt tolerate other food.

Yesterday I read of unarmed, shirtless hostages being shot by the IDF.

Today I read of another airstrike against a refugee camp and of a lib dem MPs family trapped in a catholic church, with anyone leaving being shot by snipers.

Is it okay to criticise Israel yet?

I read they were waving a makeshift white flag as well.

Just checked about the cerebral palsy kid and I was shocked.

This poor little boy starved to death.

Is that what defeating Hamas looks like?

I think its what evil looks like.

I wonder what people think a ceasefire would look like ?

according to radio 4 its all about putting an alternative to hamas in place.(if hamas suspect that they won't go along with it).

So not just a ceasefire?

Their idea of a sustainable ceasefire is one where Hamas put down their weapons:

"But let us be clear. We do not believe that calling right now for a general and immediate ceasefire, hoping it somehow becomes permanent, is the way forward. It ignores why Israel is forced to defend itself: Hamas barbarically attacked Israel and still fires rockets to kill Israeli citizens every day. Hamas must lay down its arms."

Well yeah so let's see. A ceasefire now would still see Hamas in control, right? And that would mean neither side has won...it would just mean 20k dead people for nothing.

Whole thing is f**ked. 2 state solution isn't happening. Israel has inspired a whole new generation to want their destruction, in Gaza, West Bank, across the Middle East, and right round the world. Antisemitism has gone through the roof. Israel and Jews everywhere are now less secure, and the lives of Gazans has been destroyed. All for who should be able to live on this sh*tty bit of land on the eastern side of the med.

    • I’ve said it elsewhere too but Emily Eavis said a 2028 headliner was booked, to me that’s only going to be someone the size of Oasis or Taylor Swift
    • Christ didn't even see that!
    • It does feel very bland. It would certainly spell another year (my third, I think) away from Pyramid headliners for me. That doesn't mean they aren't worthy, though. I don't follow what any of them are up to, as it isn't my thing. Good luck to them.   You would think coming off a fallow year, they would want one big hitter. 'Big hitter' is obviously open to debate, but that was/is Madonna. Let's have it right. The eggs have gone in that basket, and it seems (as far the rumours go) that it's blown up. So now you're left with another plan B/replacement headliner.   I'm still of the opinion that Oasis will do it, before the Oasis thing is all said and done. Probably 2028, if they can come to an agreement. It may transpire that 2027 is bland (or at least to some of us), and 2028 is a bit... wild.   Again, though, none of us categorically know ANY of the headliners, as it stands.
