It's possible that Johnson won't receive any police fine, he'll bullshit his way out of it with his fancy lawyers, and then he will say he has been vindicated and MPs will stick by him. Or he'll get a fine or whatever, and then it will be down to if enough MPs decide now is the time to get rid, and they have confidence in Sunak/Truss/Hunt/Mordaunt as next leader.

Hmmm.... I dont think that's fair since he's donating to her charity 

 

 

Takes a LOT to take a case to court against a millionaire. I dont think you can blame a victim to not want to go through it on their own.  Especially since its up the the authorities to prosecute him criminally, and they aren't

I'm not sure what 'justice' means in the context of a civil suit. His statement says she was telling the truth and was a victim, and he's having to give money to a victims charity. A civil suit isn't going to send him to jail.... I think she did the right thing!

The court case, if it'd got that far, would've been brutal. 

Ive been really impressed with what I've heard and read about her. She's come across as pretty brave and very strong. And genuine. 

As nice as it would've been to see him lose I don't think anyone can blame her for this.

I think you have to remember that the criminal benchmark is "beyond a reasonable doubt" even with a simple fine.  

Well not really for FPN. Point is that they are strict liability, so if you did it, you pay the fine.

If tories do badly in local elections and then if Johnson/Tories are still polling badly by the summer, he'll get kicked out.

I don’t think the Tories will do that bad, purely because the councils are the ones from 2018 where Labour did well so there’s not a huge amount for Labour to gain.

It does definitely feel like Johnson’s got away with it.
