On one level this is rather sickening. However, blatant flattery is the best way to play Trump, so I can see why he does it.

Yeah, agreed. Realpolitik.

Plus...at moment the best chance for some sort of lasting and peaceful solution is for Trump to stay involved and hope that his Arab mates and allies such as us try and get him on board with the importance of a independent Palestinian state and a secure Israel as the ultimate goal...and as you say flattery and maybe even the chance of a nobel peace prize and a legacy could be best way to reach that.

Anyway, that is a very optimistic view, and I think Trump will likely sh*t on Starmer and sh*t on the Palestinians too.

I refuse to look but I assume there's already "proof" that the people on the helicopter were Muslim

Not so many of them yet, it's all about the CIA remotely controlling the blackhawk into the plane to take out 'somebody important' 🙄

Interesting theological debate...but also I am TEAM RORY. JD Vance is a weird creep even if he does live in the promised land and has an IQ of a billion zillion..

I’m wondering if we’re in for a huge market crash tomorrow. Things have been overvalued for a while and Trump’s actions really could be the tipping point.

Probably part of his game plan - he will short sell a bunch of stock, engineer a crash, enrich himself, throw country into a recession, which also gives good excuse to withdraw all support to Ukraine. The West in chaos. Putin couldn't be happier.

Trump is set to sign an executive order sanctioning the International Criminal Court (ICC) later today for targeting the US and allies, such as Israel, the BBC understands.

The order will see both financial and visa related sanctions applied to individuals assisting the ICC with its investigations into US citizens or allies, as well as their families.

The move comes in response to the ICC's decision to issue arrest warrants against both Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and other Israeli and Hamas officials last year.

Senate Democrats last week blocked a bill which sought to sanction the ICC, with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer calling the bill "poorly drafted" and "deeply problematic".

    • It feels really busy this year, loads of big groups of youngsters too. Slightly different vibe to previous years I've been. As with Tramlines, they're very chatty during sets and there's a constant stream of them in and out of the crowd... definitely feeling my age 😂   The Quarry stage I think is a lot smaller than previous years - seems similar size to Squid/Leadmill. Some sets have been difficult to get in.   I think I've reached my limit with mid-tier indie guitar bands. There's been quite a few this weekend where I've gone over to see them then walked away after 20 mins. Surprisingly, enjoyed the Fratellis set the most in this genre. Probably getting on for 20 years since I last saw them. Wasn't expecting them to do Yes Sir, I Can Boogie, which was fab!   Hugely enjoyed the Happy Mondays yesterday, and same but different with Radio Free Alice who I saw again on Friday, following Tramlines last weekend. A big run of pop acts today - Scissor Sisters will be fantastic!
