There seems to be a clamour to keep gyms open for people’s mental and all round physical health. So I guess there is a chance they stay open.

I think we have been misled by the case numbers...they are obviously missing loads. Vallance/Whitty said could be 50,000/day by mid October, which will lead to 200 deaths/day by mid November...but we got to 200 deaths/day a week or so ago.

If we knew better how quickly was spreading then maybe would have had that circuit break lockdown Sage suggested.

I think the circuit break lockdown was pushed back by Sunak, and Tory backbenchers...due to economic/libertarian reasons. Now, we're going to end up with even worse economic damage, and restrictions for longer.

The keeping universities open thing is a bit weird...as far as I know most lectures for students are now provided online anyway...so...they're hardly open...do they mean keep students locked in their accomodation?
