My first time too! Do they check for glass bottles in the entrance? Is it easy to get ice there?

Yes.  Don't be a prize pilchard by even trying to smuggle glass on to the farm when there's far more fun, less dangerous things you could be smuggling in.

Random luggage searches.  If your booze is in bottles it'll get poured.  But from a "love the farm" perspective the public recycling facilities aren't set up for glass, plus the consequences of breakage are there as a lot of people are barefoot, sitting / laying on the grass, kids running around etc.  Not worth it on any level.

Never tried to get ice, but I believe it to be a bit of a ballache.

By Bella's Bridge? Crossed it most days, they had an impressive range of elderly sopranos there this year.

Basically , make loads of plans on what to do and where to camp and who to see.

3. no matter how much money you take you will spend it all

As the crow flies probably, but I suspect that if you were to set off towards each other at that moment in time, it could easily clock up a total travel of both parties adding up to 15 feet at least - such would be the Glastonbury Swagger.

On the spending money front, I've managed on just under £250 the last couple of years (plus booze and party essentials purchased before the festival) but in the past I've gone as high as £650.  I'd always say take as much as you can claw together and if you don't spend it all the better, but running low at the festival can bring down the spirits.

£650! I'm honestly not sure I've spent that much across 11 festivals (though I bring my own booze)

I once bought one of my brothers a Glastonbury ticket as well as my own and told him not to worry about cash. That cost me something just shy of £2K. I still twitch like someone with Parkinson's disease when I think about it,.

Cheers for the tips. Just one thing, you said please don't bring a flag but stated you have a Canadian flag, what are these shifty rules!? 

Joking. Im assuming you meant one to wave around whilst watching bands, and safe to say my hands will be full with beer regardless! Cannot fathom for the life in me how people can be arsed carrying one of them things round all day/night.
