Although Matt will disagree until proven wrong, I'm definitely inclined to believe that Lorde is Major Lazer's sub now, which fucking sucks if she's seemingly clashing with The National.

And aye I agree with Will's National theory - they just needed Radiohead to be the headliner and an undoubtedly big crossover fanbase that comes with that for their position as a sub to make sense/not go down like a lead balloon.

What's the current thoughts on the Flaming Lips, weren't they supposed to be other subs?

I'm just gonna wait till the poster comes bc I disagree with so much here

In what world is Katy Perry going to play third down? Baffling

Just sounds like a load of the national fans wanting them to sub so making it seem the case

By a lot of the support on here aren't the National far more popular than Alt J? I don't really like either but it seems that way. But if that's the info Neil has then perhaps its true.

FRI, Radiohead, the XX

Major Lazer, Lorde

SAT, Foos, the National

Alt J, Biffy

SUN, Ed, Perry

BBK, Wiley and the lads

Weren't the National been touring with the Foos? Surely they're bigger than Biffy at any rate

Biffy Clyro are headlining major festivals still and are a massive Pyramid sub, they're not subbing Other :P

Gotta be the National or Katy Perry 3rd down for me.

Edit: The National and alt-J are probably a similar size but The National are more of a rarity and have a more devout following and can probably make more demands over their slot. Don't think The National have been touring with Foos, it's Biffy who have.

I think they could easily be third down really - they're really not that big of a deal anymore (are subbing fucking Two Door Cinema Club at another UK festival this year).

Fuck it, ha! I tried

Either way, seems like Saturday is going to be a bit samey on Pyramid and Other, looks like the Jacksons will have one more come Sunday night.

I've got it down as this:

Radiohead / The National / Royal Blood / Stormzy

Major Lazer / Emeli Sande

Foo Fighters / Biffy Clyro / Katy Perry / Kaiser Chiefs

alt-J / Phoenix

Ed Sheeran / The xx / Chic / Barry Gibb

Boy Better Know / Lorde

I reckon you could potentially rearrange it and have The National 3rd down instead of Katy Perry but I think she's more likely to play lower.

If you're going with the Other headliners being on the same line in the same order, would it not be sensible to assume the Pyramid subs are on the same line, in the same order also?

Not impossible but Biffy before Foos, The National before Radiohead and The xx before Ed makes far more sense than the order they're in and the only reason I could think that they wouldn't have it that way is if tour date don't line up or something.

Wasn't really thinking about the order of em, just that they're grouped together. Didn't even realise the Other headliners were in the right order.

We are talking about the same Katy Perry right? This forum can be a crazy echo chamber at times

I can't remember where we landed with D'Angelo last year, but he was between Foals and Beck on the ghost poster so had he been booked to sub Adele that would've been the next three acts on the poster after the headliners being the subs in the correct order

Any slot she's playing apart from Pyramid headliner is a bit mad so I don't see a difference.

It's a fair point. Anyone else and I'd be saying so but I just want 'em to sub Radiohead a lot.

As I say, if it is in that order it'd be odd but not so much that it wouldn't work, although both Biffy and The National run considerably more risk of dying on their arses that way (The National especially don't have much of a chance there).

Looking back the last two years have had the subs in the right order on both posters but 2014 had Jack White first on both. Like dental I'd agree with you if it wasn't for The National being wasted subbing Foo's.

I'd go with:

FRI, Radiohead, the XX, Emili Sande, Stormzy, Kris Kristofferson

Major Lazer, Lorde

SAT, Foos, Biffy, the National

Alt J, Royal Blood (possibly Run the Jewels), Laura Marling

SUN, Ed, Perry, Chic, Gibbo

BBK, Wiley

Yeah, I'm pretty much on team 'poster placings mean naff all', but looking back at 2015/2016 its the only thing other than the headliners which is consistent.

I agree National subbing Radiohead would be better but just being on before Foos doesn't mean the show would be ruined. I thought Beck did a good job last year but Foals were off form before the headliner which suited them most.

The National could bring back the drunk Saturday sub slot from its two year hiatus.

Unlike most others I actually enjoyed Jack White at the time so maybe that wouldn't be the worst. I was thinking earlier imagine they put them on in between Chic and Ed Sheeran on Sunday. I don't think there'd be a better way to kill the party vibes going on after Chic than drunk Matt wandering aimlessly about a crowd of Sunday Pyramid dwellers screaming that he won't fuck them over.
