CaledonianGonzo
Yeah...clashed with something or other and the Park always seems like schlep, even with good underfoot conditions... CaledonianGonzo
Aye - there were a few of us and we all wanted to get a decent spot for G-Funk i.e. inside the tent. Ho hum. You can't see it all, and no regrets, really. The Japanese Lads were a treat, and we were there anyway after Mbongwana Star.

Quark
I'd be all over Damian Marley. Not sure how he'd feel about that mind. Better not be Friday night...

And regarding price, on the basis of something said to me not too long ago (tho cant remember when exactly), I'm of the belief that he'd still do it for a price that stage could stretch to. That 2007 show was a proper Marley brothers thing too, with Stephen and Julian involved too. Stephen played his own show the next night in the Roots Tent, and then a Marley Brothers 'Exodus' special on the Pyramid on the Sunday. (there was also Flagwaver Marley on stage with them too, the musically-untalented black sheep of the family )
Nikolai1985
Would love Damian Marley Know he loves Boomtown also so don't see why he would say no to Glasto! Might not have a lions den but would be awesome!

your mother
Someone mentioned David Byrne... could that happen? Would be amazing! What kind of set would he play? Would have loved to have seen him touring the William Onyeabor stuff so a couple of those dropped in would be great

I'd guess a next tour would be for his own stuff as it's been a while, hopefully with a big slab of TH classics thrown in,

(sorry tried to Google but couldn't see anything) 97 or 98 (98, i think), on the Feelings tour. The set was a fair bit from that album, but also included a raved up version of 'I Zimbra' (there's a version of that on youtube, tho not from glasto), and him in a bodysuit of peeled-back-skin at the end for Psycho Killer, but where the sound was fucking up due to the weather (he was clearly annoyed). I saw him twice previously on the same tour, and both of those I thought were better than that Glasto show. Can you tell I'm a bit of a fan? somecoolusername
I'd love David Byrne. Saw him a few years ago when he toured with St Vincent. They did some Talking Heads tunes and a couple of St Vincent ones, as well as the album they did together. It was brilliant.

He's certainly due an appearance then! I'll seek that out, never really listened to any of his solo stuff. Dare I ask where to start? For me, the best he's done outside of Talking Heads is 'my life in the bush of ghosts' with Brian Eno. The other one with eno is quite listenable and has grown on me, but isn't comparable. My fav of his own stuff is '(music from) The Catherine Wheel'. 'Feelings' and 'Look into the Eyeball' I both like, tho that might be because I've given them a bigger go than I have much of his other stuff. For an oddity - I like it a lot tho - '(music from) The Knee Plays' is different but interesting.
