I still don't think it's impossible, as it happens ... tho it does look unlikely.

Fingers crossed would be great for him to be there just seems strange that those Italy gigs have just appeared a bit like the booker's have been playing games

I can see this happening too. Too big for Park headliner these days and I've been predicting him to headline JP but WH seems like a better fit.

Bonobo on the Sunday would be great. Can't imagine them going up against Radiohead. Thom would be fuming

But I quoted both of them. And I'm definitely sure I didn't quote the same one twice.

Well I'm quite sure.

Almost sure.

Well I don't think I did.

Did I?

WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING TO ME???

Deep breaths, we'll get you through this.

yeah, probably.

Tho I know there's more reggae on West Holts than only Toots, and I know that West Holts wants Damian, and we know Damian still has a free day.

The Wailers are touring the UK around Glasto time, they could be coming back to the West Holts.

I still think Bonobo will step up to headline.

Subbed last time he played. Sold out Brixton, Manchester Academy and Leeds academy in minutes on latest tour. Added a second night at Brixton which sold out (not as quickly as the other night, granted). Adds up to me.

If Bonobo are headlining then they'll need to start now on building the giant elevator for the gig to take place in.

Bonobo on Sunday would be nice. Sunday appears to be the only day that there isnt a headliner being mentioned that I like the sound of - Unless Justice is Sunday (which feels less and less likely if they are on Other).

I'm still after justice for George Davis, still convinced of his innocence after that cricket pitch thing.

The other robberies he was convicted for after his release don't change a thing.

</oldie> :P

Crikey that's a blast from the past I was 15 at the time and remember seeing the graffiti around and also my first proper London gig was the Who at Hammersmith Odeon where Daltrey wore a George Davis is free T shirt.

Didn't his conviction eventually get quashed a few years ago (35 years after the event)?

there's no mention of it on his wiki page.

Tho there is mention of him being caught outside an on-going robbery behind the wheel of the getaway car with weapons beside him, not long after he was released because he was 'innocent'.

He pleaded guilty to that one. There was no 'George Davis is innocent' campaign for that conviction.

could be, tho I think that's prolly less likely than Damian.

I've just had another idea for the 2nd reggae tho, and that's Inna de Yard

There's some info about what that is here:-

I saw something on TV about it a week or two back - but then immediately forgot about it.

It's only in my mind today cos they've been announced for Rototom today.

@eFestivals have you heard anything on Jamiroquai at all or is it just based on them being active/having the Sunday free and not playing many other UK festivals?

nope, nothing at all.

I think it's quite possible tho, if Jay is willing to take the small-ish Glasto fees - which I suspect he's probably not, based on the little I know of how he can be a tight-arse when he has time to think about it and very generous when he doesn't.

From Wiki -On 24 May 2011, Davis's conviction for the 1974 raid on the London Electricity Board was quashed by three judges at the Court of Appeal. One of the judges, Lord Justice Hughes, said that the conviction, based on dubious identification evidence, was unsafe but that the court was not able positively to exonerate Davis.

So although it was quashed in 2011 due to dodgy evidence he was still not exonerated as far as i can make out.

Thing is with Jam-quai is that they've got a new album out. Surely a new album and ending the Glasto festival would mean massive interest in Automaton or whatever the albums called.

not too much for an act that's not main stage, I'd say. It's the Pyramid that gets the TV focus.

I guess, yeah. Show him the video of Chic and their press after the gig a few years back lol

Exactly. The Chic effect in 2013 was what it was partly because of West Holts (and because they were the biz). It's a fantastic stage, atmosphere amazing and can really pack the numbers in.

It's a wicked area. I've liked it from the first time I went. Best bars, best food, some of the best bands. Easy access to the loos round the back! Chic had been toouring but after that gig they had so much media coverage. If you nail it at Glasto, you're gonna get money/offers out the wazoo

I'm pretty made up with The Jacksons for headliner #1, and it seems like there's a vast sea of peachy possibilities for the other two; Bjork, A Tribe Called Quest, Chance, Bonobo, Justice, Miss Grace, they'd all be must-sees for me. How about Soulwax as a contender? Wouldn't be as big news as the others for me, because it looks pretty much certain I'll be at Blue Dot, but I've never seen them live and they're highly regarded, with a lot of killer material under their belt. Tbh I wouldn't know what to expect from their live shows, but all of their albums are brilliant.
