I would suggest that the situation has changed. I think there might have been one of those Worthy Farm kitchen table discussions and that the land problem has been a major issue.

So ... the sneaky buggers have extended the fallow years gap again. I knew they would when it was stretched yet again supposedly just for the olympics.

 

The fallow year used to be every 3rd year, then every 4th then every 5th, and now confirmed as every 6th.

 

How soon do you reckon until it's abandoned all together?

Well to me the fallow year seems to ensure a really strong, blooming, possibly a changed festival the year after. They have time to chase down bigger acts (The Stones in 2013), and negotiate deals, whilst raising demand for slots in the undercard.

I don't really know what to think of this specific move. I just feel that by 2017 the crew might need a rest.

It could just be that they want to avoid another world cup clash and that they have agreements with neighbouring farms up until a certain time and want to maximise them.
