Football 2015/16

I watched the game that most others seem to have.

Clearly you didn't if you think you watched a typical Sam Allardyce team.

The football was no better than Sam's teams.

Maybe it's WHU players still on their hols, but if you see that as a bright new dawn the problem is with your eyes and not mine.

Neil you clearly didn't watxh the game yesterday, and/or didn't watch much of Allardyce's tenure at West Ham.

Joey Barton? Didn't see that coming...my first thought is that he's a replacement for Nolan. Or possibly short term cover for Song until he's back fit.

I think Leicester played pretty well, scored 4, many more chances. I know it's only Sunderland, who can't defend for shit, but you can only play what's in front of you!

Doncaster hammered Sunderland's first team and beat them 2-0 a few weeks ago, without playing one striker. Their defense couldn't cope at all, and as I said, we didn't have one striker on the pitch. Obviously that's pre-season, but I doubt they'll have improved that much in the last couple of weeks.

Hopefully, but he'll cost a fortune.

yup. English and all that. Could end up making Sterling's transfer price look less of a punt.

There's a lot of surplus strikers kicking around at the mo, to add to the unwanted's at Spurs, Liverpool have two too. I saw Borini linked to WHU in the last few days, anything to that one TGT?

Not that I've heard. Though I'm sure he'd be considered if the Hernadez deal doesn't come off...

Not a huge admirer of Borini.

I have a feeling Kane will stay at Tottenham this season, no idea why, just a feeling.

I'd have thought kane leaving would wait till next summer if at all. Spurs would need his goals. ..

If I was Man Utd I would want to see him doing it over more than one season before handing over huge sums of money. At present he is a player with 1 prolific season, who had failed to impress at previous loan spells. While I accept the argument that he is young and developing, I wouldn't yet discount the possibility of last season being a fluke either. Is he Marus Stewart, Kevin Phillips or Alan Shearer, Im yet to make up my mind.

When aguerro's fully rested after the Copa America he isn't going to find it difficult to get back into the side is he...

Aguero wouldn't struggle getting into any side in the world. Best striker in the prem by a country mile, would only place messi and ronaldo above him as best player in the world.

Amazed barca or Madrid haven't had a sniff. Even United, wack a massive bid in as its just what they need.

    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
    • Definitely. UKIP also used Merkel welcoming 1 million Afgans to Europe in 2015 during the brexit vote.   Politicians in other countries within the EU know the are going to lose voters to parties to the right of them over stuff like this and they've no control over it.
    • I think it will very much vary on who there is to book who they know will sell out a day.    They’ve co-headline and full headline stuff in future, there no reason at all they won’t do it again, even if it means cutting someone’s set by 15 mins or having a band less in a big bands day…   They’re not going to not book Foo fighters and instead get the equivalent of Florence and C&S just to not have a band do a big set…   …unless of course they think it will make them more money…
    • Maybe some right wing leaders like Meloni are just playing to their base, like Reform have been here talking about them ending up at Calais.
    • Citizenship via investment programs basically work by saying if you invest this much in our economy (say buy a property worth x) then we will either grant you citizenship or residency with a route to it. The EU has rules on how low countries can set the bar. Montenegro was one of the easier ones to get and they've had to tighten it up.
