Training!

I'm gonna gear up my feet for the walking that week - might even consider the hour walk to work, all whilst carrying cider, wading through mud and talking to strangers...will never make it to work, will end up getting distracted by something cool... aside from that, no training methods no.

I start wearing the walking boots here and there so they're not a blister-shock to the feet on the first day - soooo painful!

Also, if you use a power pack for topping up your phone, now would be a good time to discharge it completely and charge it up again!

30 day plank challenge was hilariously abandoned the other day as I have now twisted my back at work! Fucking boss ordered grit salt NOW for the winter when we already had some and I had to shift sacks of it!

When my back is back to normal I am going to restart the plank challenge and up the cycling to give my legs more of a helping hand getting used to things with a year's not going last year and I will be trying to walk as much as possible on varying terrain (living near to Bushy and Richmond Parks is helping matters with both). Back is the main worry though. Haven't had pain at all since I switched jobs and bought a better mattress when me and the GF moved in together then the grit salt happens!

had the sprinklers on in the garden all week. will be inviting 20 people round on Saturday to turn it into a total mudbath. Will then drink a box of wine, then try and put a tent up.

I like the idea of cans in a rucksack for the walk to work. It is about an hour walk each way for me, but I only carry a satchel with a lunchbox of sarnies...unfortunately the only rucksack I have is a big-ass one, since my day sack got lost on the return journey in 2013. Might wander into town and see if there are any cheap ones to be had.

Which team? If middlesbrough then i''m glad you lost after knocking out brentford :bye:

It was Boro indeed, didn't deserve to win with a performance like that, similar to Brentford's effort in the second leg!

Went to a nice little min fest in Cornwall this bank holiday weekend. Danced for at least 4 hours an eve to build up the core strength and legs. Slept In a tent and partied for 3 nights to build up tolerance, and get into the practice of pacing it and getting back on it.

I did sneak back home during the day to shower and feed the cat tho.

On Day 7 of the 30 days Abs challenge (All about strenthening the core!) and walking a couple of miles every other day on my lunch break

Always have back problems at Glasto so any exercises to help strengthen my back is much appreciated!

Uni has improved my stamina for sure, used to be unable to function after a night out but having good nights on consecutively has made me have to change my ways. Gonna try and get back into running and do strength stuff as well, those wednesday/monday treks must be improved.

So worth folk who don't walk much getting in some serious feet-achingly long walks before the festival - you'll see nice things, get some exercise and your festival will be FAR more enjoyable as you'll be able to cover so much more ground before suffering.

I'm gonna be doing shoulder exercises mostly... all the arms up dancing/raving wears me the hell out, the year I went just after hedgetrimming miles of hedges was amazing raved like a madman all festival

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
    • Taxi mafia running their usual scam.
