Phil Miller RIP

Oh my god.

I've had a couple of meetings with him the last few months over work stuff. Wasn't even aware he was ill.

Lovely chap, lived for his job & had the most beautiful view of the site from his office.

He showed me the recently unveiled Millers Leep, an oak bridge joining the offices. He was immensely proud of it and such a thing will now stand as a fitting monument to a man who is in many ways an unsung hero of the festival and made huge strides to making the festival more sustainable & bringing the infrastructure into the 21st century.

Sad news

Had the privilege of meeting him a couple of times. A really really quite personable yet hardworking and dedicated figure in the crew, to enable a great festival year in year out. So very tragic to hear of his passing. Will be having a drink for him at the festival.

Reading the tributes it seems he was very much one of the unsung heroes that put so much effort in to making it happen for us all. Although it is sad news i am sure it will be very comforting to those who knew him to see that his legacy will last a long time in a very positive way. R.I.P.

One of those who never heard of him until today, but reading Micheal and Emily's notes today, seems he was repossible for much of the stuff we take for granted and for that I am grateful! Always amazes me the infrastructure behind the festival! RIP and thoughts with his family!

Glastonbury seem to have lost a few key members in recent years :(

Back in 2009 I bumped into Phil, spanner in hand, having turned on the Bristol Water main for the new reservoir for the site.

He beckoned me over, to take me down in to the pump room.

A year later he was kind enough to take ten minutes out of his day to talk me through what his team had been building for that year's festival.

He was a very friendly man, who had a passion about the whole business of making the site work.

He'll be a great loss to festival, I'm sure.

Here's the result of that chat:

Condolences to his family and friends. RIP Phil.

Yes. What everyone has already said. A meaningful life well

lived and a legacy for many years to come. An inspiration and thoughts and condolences to all those who were lucky enough to work with Phil and to his friends and family.
