hi, actually i've never been to any music festivals before and so this one will be my first experience

also since i live in the opposite side of the world from uk, it's quite difficult to collect some information about GF

(even worse, i've never been uk before ! )

so i have no idea where to start. it'll be wonderful if you help me out.

ANY tips come up on your mind would be fantastically grateful.

and i hope you generously understand me if my english sounds a little bit awkward.

Use the lock ups to store your valuables. Other than that just follow your nose and have a good walk around the whole site.

Don't over do it on the seeing bands front. Pick about 5-6 of bands that you absolutely couldn't miss for anything and spend the rest of the time wandering. Otherwise you'll be rushing about like a lunatic and worrying about missing sets rather than taking in the sights and sounds and chilling out.

Yes you need to plan to make sure you don't miss the bands you really want to see but don't over-plan so you end up rushing around.

The festival is massive ..... you need something comfortable on your feet for walking. Be prepared for all weathers (though it's going to be sunny this year :) )

Store your valuables in the lock ups - I'm guessing you'll have your passport etc with you.

Wellies, sun cream and hat are a good start. After that don't just plonk yourself next to the main stage to justify the ticket price Glastonbury is much much more than that.

Arrive early and pop into Glastonbury, we have a fringe festival that runs from the weekend before so make it a holiday. Most of all have fun.

Wow, that's some trajectory. I suspect you'll not need drugs because you'll be all over the place with that lot anyway. Have a fab festival. That goes out to all.

My biggest tip is don't treat glastonbury like other festivals where you think to get your money's worth by having to see shit loads of bands every day. I know we all love seeing live music but Glastonbury is so much more so explore as much as you can, it's hard work at times getting around the site but it is so worth it, Glastonbury is one of the most amazing places in the world so get stuck in, the best times there are things you just stumble into by accident

Another +1 for using the lock ups. Although the chances of being a victim of theft are low I am reminded of the American who had a poor time of it a few years ago. Take the usual precautions you would when traveling and use the lock ups for any important items.

Other than that just explore, investigate and enjoy! :)

Prepare yourself for the smell of the long drops by keeping a poo in a tub and smelling it on a daily basis.

Don't expect any other festival in the world to be anywhere near as good
