All the stages were tiny/underproduced. I've heard a good time was had by all but one could see that they had made some huge cuts to reduce losses (I didn't go and was never planning to, this is hearsay)

Ah I see. I didn't go last year so if it was then I wouldn't know, be interesting to see how it fares on the new site.

I see it as a positive move, and negates the ferry tax. I hope it does well, I like the festival and have spent a couple of wonderful weekends there.

its nowhere near as busy yet, but that was because the buttons were changing way more frequently and everyone was getting notifications, im sure that will change soon

Crikey - 1k guests?  lets assume most are on this thread?

nah. There's 800 on a nothing-happening day in February, so 1k at this time of year as things are hotting up is pretty normal.

There won't be more than a couple of hundred that are here to specifically follow this thread.

I spent years lurking on the weather thread, didn't even know this one existed. Let's hope lots of them are the same!

    • Sam Fender, Harry Styles, Sabrina Carpenter is a very bland set of headliners. Commercially successful and makes plenty of sense, but it wouldn't be very inspirising. That said I want a band like Green Day to headline so who am I to say what exciting is.
    • Potentially rogue shout here but could see Rebecca Black in the running for a mid-afternoon spot. I know most people still remember her for Friday but lately she’s been putting out a lot of fun pop bangers, think this could be a very fun booking!
    • FFS why when there are pull outs does it always include so many of the names I had as must sees!
    • This is a pretty petulant stance.   I oppose him headlining because I love coming to Slam Dunk and he would be a very big reason why I wouldn't come. That doesn't mean they can't choose to do so, they obviously can, I would just stop coming to that version of Slam Dunk.   Another name that I'll throw out there as name I'd love is Biffy Clyro.
    • There is possibly a weak link in the ticket buying system, no matter how clever the technical controls get. I just spent 20 minutes this morning hammering the ‘Buy Tickets’ button while the web page kept telling me there weren’t enough tickets remaining to meet my request. Eventually it changed its mind and let me buy two tickets. Most likely because of failed payments in the queue ahead of me. So - just like it did in the good old F5 days - pig-headed blind persistence can sometimes pay off.   BTW, the tickets were for the Whispering Bob Harris evening in the Albert Hall on 2nd December.
