Do you have a fire by tour tent/camp?

I've had fires most nights of the past four Glastonbury's. I'm a bonfire girl at heart (any Sussex members will know what this really means!) and I'll also admit to being a Girl Guide as a teenager, I can't resist a campfire!

I don't like the late night areas so I'm quite happy having a chilled out wander around and then finishing off the night by a small fire outside the tent. I always pour water on it before I go to bed though, the likelihood of anything happening is slim but the thought of all those tents going up makes me shudder!

to be honest REALLY honest we dont go fire fires any more cos the tents are just SO close together ..i know im up by row mead and it does get madly filled up but i just dont think a firs is safe ...

its strange cos before the fence went up you had room to have a fire but nowadays you just dont have the room .

we did have a small fire last year on the grass that they have knicked so theres more room for the headliners [ not that they need it imo ]....but with the wind blowing ect some girls asked us to put it out cos of the smoke so we did .........

it may be different in other camping fields but thats my take on row mead ....

apart from the pryamid palace crew who ALWAYS have a great set up .

Looks like there is enough interest for me to do this.

There will be a substantial discount for eFestival folks.........not that it will be pricey for 'normal' festival goers. Watch this space.

This space will be well and truly watched, not only are the swedish candle,s fantastic for almost everything u would need in a camp fire (cooking, heat & boiling water) they are the safest way to do in such a tight space aswell, i,m camping in pylon for that reason plenty of space for a good camp fire and a camp community. canny frickin wait and will be looking to see where these will be for sale,

Fantastic idea Sawdusty Surfer can you please post the info here.

Cheers,

T

We'll be in our usual spot at the bottom of The Croissant Neuf Field in the Greenfields on the left just above the main crossroads on the old railway line. The log candles will be available in various sizes and there will be a good discount for any eFesters who pre-order. I won't ask for any payment in advance so if you don't make it to buy one you won't get shafted :)

Great news and i can honestly say i,ll deffo be there on the thursday somtime to grab at least a couple maybe a few more depending on success in the resale.

Really happy with this as i actually like making them myself at home and think these r the best way to enjoy a good campfire with not much worry for the safety aspect,

Will there be a time you stop trading? i prob wont get there till bout 4pm on the Thurs as i got a bloody coach ticket for the wrong day (gutted but still going so not too bad).

Thanks very much in advance SS, there will deffo b a lil prezzy for ya aswell if your there when i get a couple or more. :hi:

Also i,d prefer the 18 inch ones as they,ll be the safest size for a lil campfire, dont really wanna b worrying about it once its lit.

Thanks again.

Sitting round the fire @ Glasto is possibly my favourite thing over and above all of the rest. Talking bollocks and just... being happy.

As I mentioned earlier, Glastonbury is one of the few festivals that allows fires in camping fields...is it actually the only one?

We had one going at Leeds fest last year, big stall selling wood, fire lighters etc...
