Personally I thought these smashed it on JPT Saturday, anyone else see them?

Shame there was only half a crowd for most of it - great set I thought

Thought they were great but the sound ruined it a little for me, bass was very drowned out by the drums at times.

Where I was stood (centre about a 1/4 of the way back) I had great sound although at times the drums were too loud I will agree there

I thought they were brilliant, much better than I was expecting. I was right at the barrier and thought it sounded pretty well balanced.

these are in my top 5 all time bands list. Fucking love them. Brilliant set. 2nd best band at Glasto (Patti and Super Furries joint 1st, can't separate them)

Yeah, the sound was really muddy. Would like to see them on their own tour as hopefully the sound would be a little better.

I saw them but was in a bit of a shitty mood at the time.

 

Left about half way through as I wasn't feeling it to get to a bar to save my night. 4 JD and cokes and a couple of rollies later (I had a lot of money over that day) and I was back in a good mood.

I enjoyed it, but they were one of my must sees beforehand and they didn't live up to my very high expectations. Mostly because of the sound quality where I was stood I think.

 

Might have to try to catch them at their own gig, I'm surprised how little the crowd got into it.

I enjoyed them but I think seeing them live will be forever ruined by their amazing comeback gig at The Forum a few years back. Not sure how they could top that one to be honest.

 

Agree that the sound was a little muddy, but nothing disastrous.

 

I dragged a mate in for the first few minutes and I loved his response: "It's just a wall of noise." Think he went off to watch Pharrell or some other rubbish on the Pyramid!

Didn't really enjoy it, managed to get a decent way in (wasn't particularly busy) but the sound was still off where I was standing. Was one of the disappointments of the weekend for me, left half way through.

 

JP can be very hit and miss with the sound so I'm not surprised that some people managed to find a position where it sounded good.

Echoeing everyone elses sentiments; I did enjoy it but agree the sound wasn't at it's best. See them at their own gigs if you get the chance for the full-on mental crowd experience.

Sounded better than when I saw them in the Ritz in Manc. However they played too much of the new album for me (as I'm not too familiar with it) and they didn't play Dead Womb, which is a travesty.

Those complaining about the sound, for once it wasn't the John Peel. They sounded equally as terrible at Brixton Academy in February, whose sound I have utter faith in.

 

They are just an awful live band.

sounded surprisingly great when i saw them at Primavera, and that was on an open stage. how odd
