I can't say I see the similarity.

They could play early on the Other Stage but I would expect everyone wanting to see them is willing against it. They're a punk rock band and obviously the smaller the venue, the better the atmosphere. Soberly standing around in the sun tapping your foot isn't something to be hoped for.

Well, very chuffed that there isn't any major clash with anything I want to see as these are the band I'm probably most looking forward to. Looks like I may be going this alone, but the plan is go over to the Other after they've finished to catch a bit of Ben Howard (bit of a contrast to DFA!) then onto the Pyramid to watch Kanye. Perfect Saturday night for me though there isn't anyone through the day on Saturday I'm particularly excited for as of yet so that'll be the day for discovering alot of stuff.

DFA 1979 are excellent live. If people get into it it will be fucking brilliant. I'm planning to watch the 2nd half of the act before to get a good spot for them.

I can't decide whether to go to Courtney Barnett on William's Green or not. Cos that'll be ace, but it'll only give me 25 minutes to trek from WG to John Peel and get a good spot for my absolute must-sees of the whole festival...

I'm in the same situation. 25 minutes is enough time though, right?

25 minutes should be fine if you get a wriggle on.

Bit annoyed these clash with the Maccabees but it's a no-brainer really. I'll be attempting to drag most of my group along too as I reckon they will enjoy it. DFA dance party at the front!

DFA dance party at the front!

I am up for that.

If they open with Right on Frankenstein I will lose my shit and go mental. Although my favourite all time song of theirs is Blood on Your Hands and they haven't played that for fuck knows how long!

You are right, I do!

Gaz Coombes actually clashes with the Sleaford Mods (Who I am definitely seeing)

I still really don't get Sleaford Mods, I have tried and tried and I still don't understand it! I agree with most of what the main guy says but can't get my head around why he needs a man with a backing track, shellsuit and a can

saw them at Primavera and they were fantastic - much better than i was expecting actually. they're unfortunately clashing with Todd Terje at Glastonbury so that's a no brainer for me (party at West Holts vs cramped in to the JP) but i highly recommend them for anybody who hasn't seen them. they'll have the tent bouncing

Aye, I went in with low expectations but they were phenomenal. Now I have to decide between them, Todd Terje & Palma Violets... grrr

it was the one time at the festival when i thought 'man i wish this was a tented venue rather than open air stage'. my friend unfortunately got a tad too drunk towards the end so i missed the last song looking after him, but everything before that was brilliant. new songs sit so well with the old stuff

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
