Yeah I was surprised at how dead the crowd was, especially as I was walking right through the front and towards the centre ready for NIN. Although I did see one of my friends on her bf's shoulders having a ball, she's the biggest FOB fangirl ever.

And then when they asked who was excited for NIN and everyone around me booed. :suicide:

FOB started with Thriller (which is my favourite song by them) and I Slept With Someone In Fall Out Boy... and I was in the best mood. But they then started to play their new shite, which sounded even more shite live and the people around me knew every word to that but not Dance Dance. My mood plummeted  luckily Biffy picked it up later and that remains the best headline set I've ever seen at a festival.

I will run a lap of Reading festival naked if either FOB or Pearl Jam headline next year.

If both headline I'll cut my balls off with rusty scissors, duct tape them to my forehead, and stagerush Pearl Jam's set on live TV holding a sign saying "Matt42 says things that make sense".

FOB are my super pessimistic prediction, to balance out the super optimistic Pearl Jam prediction. All main stage crowds were crap on that Friday at leeds in 2013, but I'd still say that they got twice the crowd that NIN got ( :'( ) and it really wasn't THAT far of off what Biffy got. And yeah they did smash Download, I thought they were excellent, especially compared to at Leeds.

Editors crowd was so, so small at Leeds '13. I really enjoyed them but all my mates found them boring. I was looking forward to seeing them quite a bit though and they delivered.

Editors were great in 2013 but the crowd was dead so I just kind of chilled on the grass a bit back with a couple of mates. But on their tour that winter they absolutely smashed it out of the park, phenomenal. I miss that band.

All my friends ditched me for Editors in 2013 because they're dreadful people. I had a great time on my own though, don't remember what the crowd was like tbh.

I drank a lot of beer that day, was so emotional by the time Biffy came on in the evening.

You've just reminded me that after Editors I caught the last bit of Alex Clare (the last time I saw any of my mates that day), as the internet explorer song started playing a shit load of people started legging it towards the tent leaping over everyone sat down outside, utter madness.

If I was going to have a guess, I'd go for The Prodigy under Foals and Imagine Dragons under Muse. Deftones aren't even close to subbing, I don't see ADTR there or Korn and let's be rest assured that provided a header from Glasto plays Reading next year, it happens a lot, it's not going to be Kanye over the Foo Fighters when they're most likely time to return to Europe is late summer.

I'd find is very strange for a promoter to stage an event with a headliner that didn't sell successfully for a much smaller event of theirs to invite someone back for a much larger scale one.

Regardless of my thoughts towards Kanye, the only way a fest like Glasto is getting away with booking him is because it's sold out and solely that reason, and that wasn't so affective when Jay-Z did it, imo the much more appreciated artist of the two. Look at the Wireless lineup last year that he was involved in, it's got V Fest if he did a large scale fest written all over it. I actually wondered why and how his wife put up with him, then I saw the, 'I should have a statue of myself erected right this second egotistical twat speach' and thought, that's why. People should have walked out when told to stand up instead of violating their ears like that!

But now I've got that off my chest. FF, Muse and Foals. Imagine Dragons, The Prodigy, some indie push up act/could be Disclosure instead though.

Eh I thought you were predicting The Prodigy to sub this year?

A mate of mine listens to The Fratellis before he goes to the gym, does that count?

He listens to specific music before he goes to the gym? I usually listen to ATDI/Rage/Deftones at the gym; went with Muse instead the other day and went home feeling sick after 20 minutes. Taking that as a sign. Never again.

I haven't ruled it out mate and still think it's possible but I'm not silly enough to not realize that Alt-J Sunday at Rock En Seine opens then up comfortably to that sub spot.

    • Morocco are a good side, know what it takes in tournaments. Semi final last world cup, AFCON winners (kind off). No one should under estimate Morocco, I think they will win the group and get to the quarters minimum.
    • Came to the same decision after age 40. I'm lucky enough now to be able to manage on only 4 days work, in a job that does not expect me to do more than my contracted hours.

    • Just finished Spider Noir which was far better than I expected it was going to be. Nic Cage clearly having a ball chewing up the scenery and the most Irish Brendon Gleeson you have ever seen. Watch in authentic black and white only for the best experience.
    • After realising that I couldn't remember how season 4 ended I decided to rewatch the whole lot. I stopped after 4 episodes of S4 to watch Gen V season 1 as there is quite a bit of crossover then finished S4 before Gen V Season 2. Finished off with S5 of The Boys and I was a little disappointed. I still enjoyed it and they did well to wrap everything up but the inexplicable lack of budget for the final season really stood out for me.
