Hmmm......i think the 'undercard' is cracking! But the 'headliner' acts arn't really.....special enough? Apart from Sleater Kinney (obvs.), and maybe Alt J (although that 2nd album was a bit 'meh'), its all a bit.....blah.

But maybe im just saying that to make me feel better, as its most likely that im not going.....

i've been to the last two but with this lineup I can't justify it this year.

its not bad per se its just not really to my taste. They basically don't have a headliner on the Friday....

its not all about the headliners but you need it to be value for money at that price. There's not enough fun / upbeat/ dancey stuff for me - band wise at least. The DJ's they have booked are excellent to be fair.

a lot of the acts are or have been touring extensively so the booking of caribou or DFA1979 doesnt hold the weight it possibly should do for example.

also the fact its slightly sub par does show what a good job they've done in previous years. They are always hamstrung by which acts are available and actually touring which must be hard.

It's not about the headliners for me, I'm in the UK so can see pretty much any band that is touring. We headed off early last year to avoid The National, although you could still hear it for miles! Zero interest in NIN. Still saw loads of good stuff.

Thinking about going to this for the first time.

Couple of questions about the Saturday line up - in particular The Strokes and Interpol.

Will they possibly clash?

What time would they likely be on at (based upon previous years)?

What kind of set lengths should be expected from these two bands?

No chance of them clashing. Both will be on one of the two main stages which never have acts overlapping

The main headliner usually starts about 00.30 with the second biggest band of the day starting about 11pm

Would guess Interpol will get about 75 mins and The Strokes about 90 mins

Great line up as always, gutted I can't make it this year. Hopefully return next summer

The place or the festival? I went in 2012 and rather enjoyed it, but it is noticibley smaller than its Barcelona counterpart. Be warned that it is rather a bugger to get back to the centre after the bands finish if you are staying in town as the park is a little way out of town.

I went two years ago and don't remember having any problems. I just walked out and got a cab I think. I was prob leaving at 4am to 7am though so perhaps less busy at that time.

Nice size fest, v nice park, not exactly mental atmosphere but great for the price and you can walk to the front easily enough for most bands (even headliners). Dance tent is pretty decent until 7am odd.

The above is re Porto by the way. The town itself is nice, quite small. You can go port tasting and check out the restaurants, or cruise up and down the river. Or go and sit on the sand beaches (Atlantic cold though).
