Evening all, no heating on in our house tonight (although I have 5 layers on), and a warm laptop nearby. Spent the evening looking for invites for my parents Golden Wedding anniversary, and settled on a Penguin Classics design, so I'm off to bed to get ready for hibernation till next year.

Day off tomorrow to learn about attachment theory. Like I don't know it, but always something new. Beats working, but eats up my flexi time.

Will that mean you will be able to tell us how to post a picture onto efestivals

My phone's not on, so I can't test that, but with a PC, I right click on the image (ie for right-handed person), select 'copy' if that's available, and then either right click and 'paste' or use Ctrl + V (especially where 'paste' isn't available) to paste the image in the post. However, sometimes the webpage doesn't allow the option of copy, or it pastes as a frame or link and not the image. I think ebay, flickr and some others don't allow pasting for copyright etc.

You can embed Flikr photos, but I've always found it a right FAFF, getting one of their share HTML fragments and hacking it to get the IMG src.

Shorts have been on all morning, and are now. Lots of odd looks and comments whilst doing my rounds. But it all made me smile........................... which is a good thing given I returned home to more Mum problems!

Any suggestions on what to do when someone does the opposite of what is good for them and makes those in authority think they cannot cope?

A lot of the time people think they know what is best for themselves when they are ill, and won't accept help or advice. I think you just have to keep trying to convince her gently to do what is suggested.

Is that what you mean? Hope everythings ok x

The summer has left London now I think :( Got quite warm in the afternoons despite dark horrible cold winter mornings over the last week or so!(Even even the odd morning was sunny!)

Just bleak out all day today so far!

    • I agree that we’ll never really know up until the concert happens (and even then we still may not know) but I think promoters are having to come up with new tactics to combat ‘blue dot fever’ (already hating that phrase!) and trying to imply that concerts are selling better than they actually are / available tickets are in short supply is definitely one of them.    To add though, it is quite common at the O2 Arena for the rear blocks to not go on sale (and then remain closed for the concert and covered over to hide the empty seats). And equally common for standing to sell out first, then side/lower tier seating next and rear/upper tier seating last.    Jungle’s two concerts at the O2 are a good comparison for this - for their 1st (announced) date, all blocks are on sale and seats in all sections remain unsold, whereas for their 2nd date, the rear blocks are greyed out (more so than for Muse) and equally lots of seats remain unsold in the blue blocks. Standing for both concerts are showing as sold out.
    • MGK can and should headline. I was at one of his shows earlier in the year as a very casual fan, and there were a lot of alt people there. The show was actually class and he completely won me over. Anyone who opposes him headlining is just a gatekeeper imo, we need to move with the times.
    • Ultimately Glasto is just part of the festival circuit, however special we may think it is. The vast majority of its headliners have done many others
    • From Magyar’s FB:   ”Our country's energy and water supply is stable. As of today, voluntary consumption reduction is no longer necessary. The turbine at the Paks power plant is generating stably. Thanks to precipitation in Austria, the water level of the Danube will temporarily rise by 20–30 centimeters. Thank you, Hungary, for the unprecedented national unity shown in recent days! We have much to be proud of, and much to carry forward into the period ahead.”
    • I hope it stays under £400.  A lot of us aren't flush with cash.  Charities are great but do they need £1 mil (I jest)
