Glastonbury Free Press

A bit disappointing this year that whenever I went past the press stand they'd run out of the free papers.

Odd that they didn't seem to have any trouble printing extra paid posters for people to buy... which I happily would've done, had they had some tubes to store them in... what's the point?

Did anyone manage to locate the elusive free paper?

Nope, never seen one except the odd (wet) copy pinned to the noticeboards. Nice idea in theory but just doesn't work in practice. Hopefully someone who got one (or the guy working on it who posts here) can put up a PDF for the curious?

I got Thursday's edition from the Free Glastonbury Press stand on Sunday afternoon and the Sunday edition from the Info point a few minutes later..

£5 for a cheap bit of paper with some ink on - they're havin' a giraffe - daughter was gutted as she wanted a momento from the press of the year she didn't go - but pay those prices - do they think we're made of money?

Got both of 'em, a woman handed some to us in the Greenpeace area early morning on Thursday and the info points in Greenpeace had them on Sunday too

There were copies at the info points and at the tent where they were printing it. I was working to put it together in a cabin backstage, with a team of volunteer staff who were working their guts out, so I didn't actually get up to the press that often. We printed 21,000 copies of each edition - the Heidelberg can only manage 3,000 copies an hour - and I believe they were doing their best to distribute them via a small band of volunteers. These things are done largely on good will, and if you wanted to volunteer as a distributor to ensure that more copies get out around the site, I imagine your help would be welcomed :)

Just a suggestion: would it maybe be better for the campsite crew office thingies or lock-ups to stock them? I passed both of these every morning and would have definitely picked one up, but once out and about on site I either forget to look for or can't find the info points.

Managed to get Thursday's anyway, which I was chuffed about as it had a message for my friend (cheers, Dog Burger :) ), but didn't come across it on Sunday. Just seems a shame with all the hard work that goes into it for the maximum number of people not to see it.

I've just emptied my pockets of my rain coat... amongst the rubbish there was a cider bus cup and a Free Press :) It's Thursdays copy...

I think I got it on the Sunday and they only had Thursdays edition
