Be weary of the fact he could cancel the transaction once he senses your lack of desperation at getting the ticket. Take pride in knowing that every time he re-lists the item, he actually pays out more for it though.

but I think when I see something like this, on eBay, I personally become resentful over the people who treat something that we treated with such joy, such luck and sense of reward (rather than entitlement) as something so disposable. It's like somebody is putting a price on something that, to us, was priceless, and that irritates me.

Maybe I'll message them saying I'll pay next week once I get paid. If they do get relisted, someone please do the same ;)

If they hadn't been trying to make an obscene profit I'd have left them as I have no problem with that.

Slighty off topic but have any of you ever purchased a ticket from a tout for Glastonbury? I got a last minute ticket from Ebay for 2003, I can't remember exactly how much I paid? Maybe a £100 over the asking price? I had to meet some dodgy bloke in the Castlefield area of Manchester at a certain time, I waited for about 1/2 an hour and eventually a massive black people carrier turned up, rolled down the windows and asked for the cash, I was bricking it right up to the entrance gate thinking that there's a good chance that the ticket was fake but thankfully it was kosher.

I wouldn't advise it as the best way to obtain a ticket.

Glastoworker, the Glastonbury I experience is a world away from the sterile domain of official bars. I work in the Greenfields and know a huge number of crew there and also in the south east corner. You seem to think that if I know how to get people in who don't have tickets it means that I must have tried it myself? Do you not think that how people are/could be smuggled in is not an occasional topic of campfire chat? I'm not going to post a' how to do it' list on here obviously.

I'm sure there are many people who know how to commit all sorts of crimes. Knowing how to commit one doesn't mean you have actually done it.

If any more get listed for way over the odds bid on them to get rid of the listing and then don't pay and then a few days later complain to ebay that having read Glastonbury's T and Cs you realise it is against the rules to resell. If everyone did this every time one got listed it would stop it in it's tracks.

I don't care if they are being greedy, my point is that its up to them & whoever chooses to buy the tickets...it makes absolutely not one ounce of difference to anyone else if they are profiteering w*nkers or not( I note that they have now been bought for the £800) And I stand by my assertion that reporting them to ebay and tweeting glastonbury about it is pathetic and as someone else said here very authoritarian!
