zico martin
Good fun album with undertones of the fall and pavement (not feargal sharkey though) but how do you pronounce their name? I assumed it was par-kay a la French but as they're American it could well not be! Until I find out I can't mention them in real life to anyone! Tuna
Pronounced like this my good man Seen them a few times and always good, just have to hope that the crowd is well up for it as London crowds have been a little bit rubbish the last couple of times. FloorFiller
hopefully gonna catch them in Liverpool just before the festival, but if they remain not clashing with anybody (as they are now on the clash finder) i'll see them at Glastonbury too. can't wait for the new album

When Jokers Attack
Keep meaning to listen to them again. Liked the album when I gave it a listen a few months ago.
Brave Sir Robin
Love Stoned & Starving. Not too fussed about any of their other tracks tbh, but imagine they'll be good fun live.

cokebabies92
Might see them in Birmingham pre festival so I can avoid inevitable clashes, would be great on The Park though.
Bradders
They're not as exciting as you may expect live.
FloorFiller
new album has leaked. gotta say i'm a little disappointed on first listen - doesn't seem quite up to the standards of Light Up Gold
The 38 year old virgin
Thought I'd bump the thread. Downloaded new album. Not quite as instant as light up gold (which is exactly what my life has been missing) but still worth a listen. Got promoted from worth a look to not miss. Shades of pavement and strokes. Great fun
tevaburger
2 decent/recent pieces on the band, one from this past weekend's NY Times 'The Last Great NY Band?' http://grantland.com/features/parquet-courts-sunbathing-animal-indie-rock/ http://www.nytimes.com/2014/06/01/arts/music/parquet-courts-proudly-hews-to-tradition.html?action=click&module=Search®ion=searchResults&mabReward=relbias%3Ar&url=http%3A%2F%2Fquery.nytimes.com%2Fsearch%2Fsitesearch%2F%3Faction%3Dclick%26region%3DMasthead%26pgtype%3DHomepage%26module%3DSearchSubmit%26contentCollection%3DHomepage%26t%3Dqry197%23%2Fparquet+courts
Amy Lawn
Bought the first album as my local record shop made a real song and dance about it and made it their record of the year, thought it was a bit boring. Gave about 5 listens and didn't bother again. Review of the second album in the paper the other day said Stephen Malkmus heard it and mistook it for Pavement, surely this can't be true? Anyway, I have loads of great Pavement music to listen to, so I can't see why that would entice me. I pronounce it Par-Ket Courts, and balls to anybody who corrects me. "Oh, actually, it's not Bon Iver, it's Bonny Bear" stuff off, you bore, I says it how I sees it.
tevaburger
nice little run of 3 acts up at the Park on Friday w/ Courtney Barnett into Jimi Goodwin into these lot...
FloorFiller
new album has grown on me quite a bit since my first few listens but it's still not quite as good or instant as Light Up Gold. nothing on there as good as Careers In Combat which is an absolute tune which they better play at the Park! FloorFiller
"Oh, actually, it's not Bon Iver, it's Bonny Bear" stuff off, you bore, I says it how I sees it. also, is it actually supposed to be pronounced 'Bonny Bear'!? mind blown if that's true
Lubic
also, is it actually supposed to be pronounced 'Bonny Bear'!? mind blown if that's true Think its meant to be a French sounding 'Bonny Vair'. Although cos he's from across the pond, it comes out sounding like 'boney vair'. I actually researched this before I went to see em live, for fear of being scowled at! Amy Lawn
Bonny Bear I tells you! That's what his beardy fans in beige clothes were tutting at me when I went to see him. Bon Iver, son of Mr. Ivor Iver and Mrs. Irene Iver.
