Jack White?

How can people think Elephant isn't great! Start to finish, i don't skip a track.

It is great, but when held up next to the other Jack White records, the first half is a bit tame.

Guess that's what makes us all different. I love it. I'm constantly switching between that and WBC as my fave album and then Icky is up there too. But this will start Scruffy off about how i get Jack White wrong, when in fact i'm so correct xD

Edit: I've only just spotted that he played a Little Bird snippet in 7NA. That is big news! mind he probably won't do it again.

Get behind me Satan is underrated. The vibes make it. Nurse is a killer track.

it's one of those albums you need to be in the mood for.

In that case I'd give my left bollock to hear think I smell a rat live

i can't up vote as i've used my quota.

:) i went nuts to this. My first day at Glastonbury festival. Then they played Let's Shake Hands, now i really would love to hear him do that again.

I duno if i've said but there is a reference to Let's Shake Hands in Lazaretto.

Reignwolf - just added to the Saturday early on John Peel - is worth checking out for fans of Jack White.

Thanks for this. If i end up seeing reignwolf, royal blood, plant, white and metallica that will be the most heavy guitar driven day at glastonbury i've ever had

Set list from last night in Lubbock, TX.

Just look at that encore!!!

Also he did a cover of Waiting for my man. I so wish I could have been there for that.

owhhh his setlists seem to be getting better and better / including more of the White Stripes songs that i like :( goddamn this clash so much

I'm just starting to realise how f*cking awful the clash with Pixies is. They are both rare acts to see in the UK, and on my list of people I wanna see, beneath Metallica they are equally the acts i wan to see most. hopefully the set times will have as little overlap as possible.

Interview in the New Review section of today's Observer.

It's okay, but if you're already a fan then you wont get much out of it, a bit of a beginner's guide tbh. Jack White facts and loose biog interspersed with some relevant quotes from the interview.

And that setlist makes the pixies one hurt a little less. Icky thump, pretty good looking and you don't know what love is. Eargasmic stuff u

And then factor in that Frank will be playing those Indy Cindy tracks... The choice is clear.

Oh I'll be watching jack whatever, but some of those pixies setlists do look good. New album notwithstanding. There are a couple of belters on that to be fair. Also a fair few duds.

Yeah, having just looked at some of the Pixies setlists, they do look really good. I'll just think of the fact that all of the sans-Kim live vids have seen have made them look right shit. Chances of hotfooting over and actually catching some of their set after Jack finishes are slim, aren't they?

Saw Pixies set at primavera described as ‘dogshit’, and that was from a big fan, if anyone is still in doubt over this clash. They’ve always looked good live from the videos I’ve seen, as has Jack White. For me a lot depends on where I decide to be for the headliners, and possibly what time Dexys start. I’d favour Jack White if it was a straight choice between the two though, and these setlists look so good that I’m tempted to make him my main act of the evening and base everything else around that.

    • When are  the stage splits ??
    • 13th Primavera (Thursday was definitely making me feel like this was the cursed year).  Blood Orange was such a party by the end of their set but we all knew that rain storm was approaching.  So gutted Massive Attack didn't play after the false hope of a new rescheduling, especially knowing that Elizabeth Fraser & Horace Andy were backstage with them!  Managed a bit of Melt Banana but was just so over the weather by that point.   Friday was awesome, Rilo Kiley were so much fun.  Never been the biggest Cure fan but made the effort for them after Thursday & Robert Smith sounds like he did back in the 80s.  PinkPantheress & Viagra Boys were also great.   The highlight for me was Sudan Archives on the Saturday, she was stunning & with the Olivia Rodrigo surprise set too it made up for the Thursday sh*t show.  Dijon & Knocked Loose also superb.   Shoutout to Cardiacs on the Tuesday too, they were so LOUD, played a storming set.
    • OK, never mind, I'll take normal Nine Inch Nails.
    • Probably my least favourite of the five editions I've been to, but still plenty good enough for me to go again. Weirdly, I was just totally running out of stamina a lot earlier into the night than I remember happening in the past. I feel like I missed a lot of the weirder sets on the smaller stages as I was just totally cooked. Not Primavera's fault, obviously. Maybe I'm just getting old - or maybe I need to pace my drinking better...   Anyway - is David Byrne a realistic get for next year? Certainly hoping so.
    • watching clips of the cure in Barcelona, wow 2 hours 25 minute set. That's gonna be tough on the Sunday but can't bloody wait for it
