pretty gutted to be missing him (although not as gutted as i'd have been missing Pixies for Metallica). still seems like a silly clash, but an unavoidable one i suppose

who knows, i might end up going to see him. only recently properly gotten into him and i can't help but feel that his set will go down as one of the greats

We might get a bit lucky with the timings, depending on set lengths etc....but yes a gutting clash really if it does happen like that. (Currently a clash finder has Pixies in the gap between Jack White and Metellica ).

That said maybe we are wrong about him and elbow :D (ideally :P)

i like Pixies a lot more than Jack White but i just can't help but feel that Jack White will put on the much better show. such a shitty predicament :( wahhh

I'm torn between the two but this is how I feel, think PIxies aren't really the same anymore. New stuff was garbage.

Pixies at Glastonbury is something i've been waiting for for years, but it came at the worst time; without Kim and with a new shit album to promote. think this'll be a spur of the moment decision. if i go and see Pixies and they're crap (which a lot of people seem to think they are these days) i'll be livid, especially as it's almost a given that Jack will be amazing (and that Seven Nation Army finale will surely be one of, if not the, moments / sing alongs of the festival)

If their live shows without Kim are any indication, her departure was a good move. The studio output would've been the same with or without her as well. Agree that it'll be spur of the moment. I'm just hoping Metallica are gifted a huge set and a long setup time for pyro and whatever that combine to encompass both Bugg's and Pixies' sets.

Precisely why I'll be choosing Jack White should the two end up clashing. Pixies are playing a fair few UK dates so I may pick tickets up for one of those nearer to the time (Probably Manchester).

If I did manage to find a jetpack on gumtree and use to get over the fence, and use my renown stealth skills to evade Johnny Law, I'd definitely go for Jack over Pixies, even though I'm way more into Pixies than I am with Jack White.

I'm in the exact same boat here and I've had tickets to see pixies twice but I had to sell both times

    • Yesterday was another brilliant day of music for me. Some highlights:  My Bloody Valentine - absolutely loved it! Maybe my main festival highlight. I felt submerged in the music with all the layers and distortion. It becomes hypnotic almost as it progresses. Not as loud as some thought it might be, but it didn’t need to be. The visuals added a lot too. During the noise part of You Made me Realise, I was basically in a trance staring at the visual tunnel or whatever it was on screen. Amazing experience. Little Simz - as she mentioned at the start, you’re guaranteed a good time with her. Great performance just like in 2022. Zero complaints. The little DJ section wasn't something I expected but was cool. Kneecap - I had a blast but at this point in the night I was at my most intoxicated let's say, so I don’t remember it as clearly as I'd have liked to!    The xx - The sound for this was perfectly balanced (at least where I was) and the band were great. Lots of talkers, but with the crowd size and being kind of far back, it's to be expected. Intro was one of my favourite moments this year. Big Thief - really good live performers. The lead singer has a lovely voice. This was a nice chill way to kick off the mordor gigs for me.
    • I've been attending Primavera every year since my first one in 2017 & it's always been my favourite week of the year, but I think things have changed.   Firstly, the site just feels too busy in this current set-up. I'm sure it was a lot easier back in 2017-19 to get between the stages & then a good spot for the next one, but now you increasingly have to sacrifice parts of a set or miss them out completely to plan for later on. I wish we still had the Bits area over the bridge to spread everyone out.   But the main issue is the talking, it's always been here but this year it's been relentless & I just can't tolerate it any more. It's at every stage, and everywhere from the front to the back, there is no escape. Not focusing on nationalities, but a major dynamic now seems to be groups of people who are only focusing on their own good time & aren't interested if this affects anyone else. It seems essential that all members of the group are together at the same time, so it's people making telephone calls, people on shoulders waving phone torches, people barging through. It's alright, I'm only trying to watch The Cure here.   I will have a year away to think about it. I thought might give up completely but yesterday was a bit of a classic day after two unenjoyable ones. Adding Olivia Rodrigo to Baxter Dury, Gelli Haha, The XX, Gorillaz & Kneecap shows how good it can be, but as with everything, it's always the people that have the biggest impact.
