I must have missed that mention. Yeah I've heard a lot about them after just getting into them over the past year. Would be great to see and would imagine they would suit the sunday very well

Dig! is brilliant but it's edited to make Anton look like an idiot.

He is no longer drinking or taking drugs so the BJM are sounding better than ever IMO. Manchester 2012 was one of best gigs I have been to, Having Matt Hollywood back in the band really adds that extra dimension, he wrote some cracking tunes.

Oops, missed this thread!

Yeah great having Hollywood back. I met him at Titp 2012 and he's a really nice guy, chatted for ages although was quite pissed so what about is unfortunately a tad hazy... He kept nicking my cigarettes though!

Other than the new album, which I'll listen to later. Any recommendations. I know nothing of their stuff, but like BRMC and Black Angels and from reading these boards they seem to have a fairly big crossover of fans.

Theyve a vast and meandering discog.

"Take it from the man!" and "Their Satanic Majesties 2nd Request" are my faves of theirs.

The double disc "Tepid Peppermint" compiliation is Newcombe-approved and is easily the best place to start. Put on "Anenome". Loud.

while BJM seem spot on for the 29th, even better hope for me is that there might be a chance that one of my old-time faves the Dandy Warhols may finally be returning after 12 years absence. The Dandys have a croation festie on the 24th of June and then one in Italy in mid july, which leads one to think there's surely a few weeks of dates in-between. was quite enjoying their 2002 set on the pryamid when some idiot was sound-testing microphones and got mixed into the Dandy's sound which sort of threw off Courtney Taylor-Taylor a bit...he came off a bit of an arse to the audience, but he had every right to be ticked off. I think they then went right into 'hard on for jesus', finshed off, and then CTT came back out solo for a quick 'Everyday is a Holiday'

would be nice to have both bands at Glasto. back to back up at The Park would be nice...or with 2 and 3 am sets at the Hellfire stage.

must say that BJM were disaster when i saw them once. saw Matt Hollywood's band The Out Crowd support the Dandys last decade and he was good. if you're into the dandys, their 13 Tales live album is coming out this month.

  • 2 weeks later...
  • 2 weeks later...

looks like Saturday for the Dandys at Glasto, the second of 5 dates on the trot in Ire/Uk, but still very likely.

inconceivable they'd skip Glasto after seemingly arriving just in time for it. Courtney Taylor Taylor is on the extra bits of J.Temple's Glasto movie saying Glasto is still the 'festival of festivals' the BJJ playing on the Sunday, etc... they're there surely.

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
    • Easily my favourite set of the day.
