only reason i'm pushing so hard for them to be on Other is that if they're lower on the bill on Other i'll get to see them whereas if they're headlining John Peel i'll probably miss them. i reckon they'd work on Other. if they play their 'hits' / singles like they tend to do it wouldn't be any weirder than a lot of acts on Other

Can't see it working well for Wild Beasts on Other. Get em in the John Peel.

I checked back on what nufc1978 had posted about them earlier, and (if i'm remembering correctly what I read) he said JP. I think it might have been as headliner.

(no, my info is nothing to do with his and his might be wrong [i don't know]. I know with 100% certainty that the info I've got is kosher tho.)

Neil, is your info that they are playing this year, just not where?

yep - I don't have any 'where' info.

But now my memory has woken up a bit, I'm thinking that nufc1978 said they'd headline the park (and not what I said above).... you can check for yourself via the search. I dunno if he's right, tho I suspect he probably is.

I saw them in the JP tent in 2010 and they were brilliant. Didn't manage to catch them in 2011. I hope they play this year, but as others have said, I think they would be a bit lost on the Other stage.

Two Dancers is an absolutely asounding album. How that didn't win the Mercury I have no idea.

Gave the new album a listen last night, seems pretty good. Will have to give it a few more listens for it to sink in properly though.

    • Maybe you need a groovy mayor who can get you the money.   Anyway, looks like mayors going to get a whole load of fiscal devolution and greater powers...so best everyone gets one, a decent one, and get a load of Madchesterism.

    • Another great weekend with family and friends.  We spend most of our time between Obelisk, and second stage due to having young children.  Overpass, Florence Road, Nathan Evans, David Byrne and Alex James were the highlights for me.  Quite enjoyed a dance to Gok Wan on the Saturday too.   Certainly feeling the Latitude blues this week and looking forward to next year.   Also looking forward to all the predictions for next year in the 2027 chat.   Hope everyone had a great festival.
    • How much is Burnham's success down to Manchester getting a shitton of investment for public transport infrastructure?   There's no doubt he did the work, but the money dumped into Manchester for him to achieve that was huge - the most of any infrastructure project outside London ever. Did that need a mayor, or just the money?
