yep, almost certainly not him....almost certainly metallica, headlining, the pyramid stage, at glastonbury, on a saturday night....keep saying it and it almost sounds credible, rather than sounding like they're wheeling out a bunch of old metallers who haven't done an album in 6 years

Stone Roses haven't done an album in yonks but would be credible. When was Fleetwood Macs last album? 2003ish?

you're just a metaller objecting to what is almost certainly true, which is that most people who go to glastonbury don't want them or other metal bands to headline

if glastonbury starts going properly down the metal route for headline acts then it will be a fucking tragedy

Beyoncé was a much bigger leap really, because it's very very very rare for Glastonbury, or any of the major festivals really, to book a headliner that has a predominantly female fanbase. Because patriarchy.

I don't even know what genre Fleetwood Mac are supposed to be - "fucking horrible middle-of-the-road radio-rock shite that makes me gag" isn't a genre as far as I'm aware - but what other bands like them play Glastonbury regularly? Haim don't count, because they just copy Fleetwood Mac.

BTW even though she did not play the Festival did book Kylie to headline in 2005, so they showed themselves very willing back then to go with a female popstar.

I don't think you should be worried about an influx of metal headliners, there aren't enough bands of the required stature to play Glastonbury anyway. Dedicated metal/hard rock fests like Download and Soni have been struggling for years to fill their top spots with suitable metal headliners.

I would like to see them give Iron Maiden a shot at the very least at some point if Metallica proves successful though.
