Oh are they wellies??

My first glasto I wore wellies (2007). Never again. Boots all the way and 85 quid for something I'd use once a year. Not for me. (Fair enough if you're a farmer I suppose).

Just want to say thanks to the people mentioning Muckboots on here - I'd never heard of them before and really struggle with comfortable footwear as I have awkward feet. I bought a pair from the website below for half price earlier this week and they are already the comfiest things I have ever worn!

you can say alot about the old and new glasto but id just like to make this small point ..before the fence of death went up yea it was great with all us lot getting through the fence ect and even after to an extent with the beer sellers £2.50 3 for a fiver and the dodgy candle flares that could take all the hairs off your arm in seconds yea all that WAS great BUT since thats all been stopped [ and as long as you can take as much alcohol in as you want ] once your in its just the same theres just less thieving bastards and a good deal more room .....believe it or not lol ...............as for the commercialization part of it all imo if you dont look for it you dont see it the only thing that i find real annoying apart from the flags is the EVERYTHING seems to be about Arcadia ...oh and those bloody balloon canisters things lol

this may not make sence to those of you that went to a school but it does to me ......................i think lol

Re the Op, I think that it is down to several things.

1) The drugs

2) The drug

3) The drugs

4) The people. Pre 2000they were more likely to be drug caning anarcho ner do wells who knew how to party and were able to source cheap quality drugs onsite which were available freely everywhere.It was often hard to see any band on stage from the back because of the clouds of smoke produced by the audience.
