Neither are they English based which you did say, and as has been pointed out to me there is probably more of an argument for calling them English than English based.

I know for a fact that the majority of the band lived in London during the release of the new record. Whether that's true or not now, I do not know. It's also worth pointing out, i said based, as in currently. I didn't say"were based" inferring they came to England to break through. I was making no reference to their nationality or their origins, hence my choice of words.

If I was making the same point about Arctic Monkeys, I would say they are American based, because they currently are.

Being someone who got annoyed this week because Radiohead were claimed to have been from Abington, I know how annoying things like that can be, yet really pointless.
