Zoo Music Girl
I did in Glasgow. My ticket says no such thing so I don't think it's a Manics thing. Unless it says something along the lines of 'ID and credit card used must be presented' it'll be fine. Cheers! That's reassuring. I think it's a Roundhouse thing but I don't remember being asked for ID there before.
Lord Rooster
Cheers! That's reassuring. I think it's a Roundhouse thing but I don't remember being asked for ID there before. Think it must only apply to tickets being sold directly from The Roundhouse website, too, as the one I have from Ticketmaster simply has the order reference number printed on it. Speaking of tickets, mine finally arrived on Wednesday, and the 20th anniversary box set was delivered yesterday! Well excited for Tuesday now! michael eavis' beard
Last night was brilliant!! They absolutely smashed the Holy Bible set. Venue, crowd and atmosphere was amazing. JDB did a solo acoustic version of Running Out of Fantasy at the start of the second set (first time ever live apparently). Obviously, on the whole, the second set was never going to live up to the first but any set that includes Motorcycle Emptiness, You Love Us and Design for Life - plus a little snippet of Last Christmas - can never be called poor! Looks like there is a bit of a pattern to the second set but they do keep changing it up slightly so should keep it interesting for the rest of the tour. zero000
Absolutely smashed it last night. The holy bible set was really intense, I genuinely feel quite privileged to have watched it. Archives of pain was my personal highlight, that baseline is pure evil. I'm quite tempted to get a ticket for the Cardiff castle gig and to make a weekend of it. Great city and venue. jonodillieono
Does any one thibk we could get thus at glasto next year? I was thinking this before, like a John Peel/Park headline slot for it?
Zoo Music Girl
Until they announced the June date, I would have said no but now... Hmmm. Was hoping for it last year but perhaps it wasn't ready then. Secret set on The Park or something would be glorious, especially for my mates that can't make the tour. Anyway: TONIGHT
Zoo Music Girl
Anyone go yesterday? Were they on at 8.45 sharp? Going for a pint first and don't want to risk missing a second! Just marched to the tube singing along to the first three tracks. Don't want to exaggerate like but this will probably be the best gig of my life. Maybe. Lord Rooster
I'm relying on adrenaline (and copious amounts of coffee) to give me a boost tonight as I'm likely to be absolutely knackered by then!
Dave
Anyone go yesterday? Were they on at 8.45 sharp? Going for a pint first and don't want to risk missing a second! Just marched to the tube singing along to the first three tracks. Don't want to exaggerate like but this will probably be the best gig of my life. Maybe. Went last night - was great! Yes they were on at 8.45 sharp and finished about 10:45. A lot of people seemed to walk out after THB set though?! JDB says he has a cold so his voice was a bit off, didn't spoil it too much but was a bit of strain going on!
Dave
And if anyone wants to take a chance at getting in, touts were selling tickets to people for about a tenner coming close to 8pm... worth a go.
Zoo Music Girl
Gutted to hear about his voice! Hope it's better today. Thanks for the timing updates. I'm a bit tempted to leave after THB too, but I'll hang around for the three or four songs in set two...
Avalon_Fields
The Manics deserve a lot of credit, a rare band still valid after so many years, and still producing worthwhile/good new stuff. I rate all of their last 5 albums (Futurology, Send Away The Tigers, Postcards From A Young Man, Journal For Plague Lovers, Rewind The Film)
Zoo Music Girl
I'll be staying. Plenty of opportunities to get my breath back, go for a wee and get a drink in those sets
jonodillieono
2nd night in Manchester seemed to empty out after THB.
