CCTV Surveillance at festivals

Hi,

Thank you for the comments. I feel i was to blunt in the last message to what exactly would happen. We wouldn't take over the ground security we would work alongside of them to catch out anything that they may miss, as we all know their are a lot of things that happen and security miss (i can relate this to my own experiences).

We would be a unit that will not only used for CCTV but as center point for missing people etc. This will just give everyone a helping hand when a scenario like this comes around.

Sounds fantastic, I am confused as to why your asking a group of festival gores? Surely this would be targeted at festival organizers/the police/local councils?

Or we will now expected to directly pay for them to record our every action? As the van rolls past, you could charge every one a fiver for the privilege?, or 50 quid if they want their deeds hidden away?

Thing is, as Pauls says, currently there is nothing new with this idea. Large festivals already have CCTV and control tents where there are representatives from each company on site. There are info points dotted around that are connected to said control tent and CCTV via their radios. Small festivals don’t need this set up, and if they wanted it probably wouldn’t be able to afford it.

I saw a cctv camera tell a man off for peeing in the street the other week..."Sir, that is not a toilet".

I was most impressed.

They are everywhere in my town. If I want to carry a body to the woods I have to take a right roundabout route these days.

A few months ago, I went out on a pub crawl with mates in London. I got horrendously drunk, bought a kebab, got the tube to baker street while eating it to catch my coach back to Oxford. I find the coach stop had moved. I became convinced that it had been moved to identify me on cctv and catch me for eating a terrorist kebab. I thus tried to walk from baker street to marble arch without.encountering another cctv camera, diverting down tiny back streets and alleys.

70 minutes later, I got to marble arch, and realisedquite how stupid that was while waiting for the 2nd last coach running..

nah, it's doing the normal thing - updates to the view counts aren't done instantly (to reduce server load at the busier times).
