*whispers* . . . Firefoc Adblock . . . .

:)

SHOUTS - fuck off you freeloader. ;)

Really, someone objects from a moral basis about Sun ads - and I get where they're coming from - but the answer is not to block the ads. The only reason those Sun ads are needed in the first place is because of the people who block ads.

I would love to have no Sun ads but the reality is that those ads have to be here or the site can't be here.

If you don't wish to see those ads or any ads at all then there is an option, which is based in morality and not just a selfish "me me me".

Regardless of the ads / no ads element, I feel that I have recovered the few quid it costs to go ad-free many times over during the past year both in real terms, such as the useful money-saving advice and heads-up on sales, bargains etc, and in terms of the entertainment etc the site provides.

Personally speaking my conscience would not allow me to take all this for nothing (although I appreciate some people don't suffer from this affliction!). I guess a few people possibly can't afford to pay, and others choose not to based on how they use the site.

I remember starting a thread on this same topic a while back.

Neil pointed out to me the irony of the fact that the likes of Murdoch and his ilk are (perhaps unwittingly) funding a site that regularly mocks them.

And that he drew the line at Conservative Party recruitment ads.

If I remember correctly?

Urgh... Bloody ads for the Scum appearing when I view this site on my phone....

I went to a really interesting talk/debate in Leftfield last year about feminism and closing Page 3. It's all quite grim and exploitative really. I wouldn't mind so much seeking The Sun ads on here if they went the way of the Irish version and stopped page 3!

Thank-you for your clarification. Not having read all the site I was unaware of your subscription option

However I've banned all things Murdoch for 30 years and for that reason I use Adblock on my browser, for all sites.

Murdoch hasn't got any of my money for longer than 30 years. That doesn't mean that, like you, I have to become as bad as him as you have become.

Murdoch robbed his employees; you rob me.

Murdoch denigrated Liverpudlians; you denigrate festival goers.

Yeah, freeloading is the moral choice.

It's important to highlight that the adverts are there for a good reason. Many will look on them as a nuisance, when in fact they are essential to keep things running. However, my view is still that the customer is right, and if they want to use an ad blocker, that's up to them. Visiting and posting, with an ad blocker, is better, in my opinion, than not visiting at all.

Nope, it's just not. It adds to the costs of running this site that there's not income coming in to support.

If you're a freeloading c**t, you're a freeloading c**t. Why do you think that others should pick up the costs of your lack of morals?

    • There is a bunch of TBC acts on Deftones day, according to APE insta. The obvious guesses are Fiddlehead, Nothing, Dynamite and Make Way, "Outbreak" artists playing the night before. The question is more about how are they are gonna fit in on three big stages.    is
    • SURELY Reel Big Fish will be here?
    • Sam Fender, Harry Styles, Sabrina Carpenter is a very bland set of headliners. Commercially successful and makes plenty of sense, but it wouldn't be very inspirising. That said I want a band like Green Day to headline so who am I to say what exciting is.
    • Potentially rogue shout here but could see Rebecca Black in the running for a mid-afternoon spot. I know most people still remember her for Friday but lately she’s been putting out a lot of fun pop bangers, think this could be a very fun booking!
