Lineup 2015

I think that depends on what Linkin Park are doing as Chester Bennington is with them now and he doesn't seem to do both at the same time. Plus would the R+L crowd be interested in them?

Nah you're right, they don't fit Reading's demographic really, would love to see them headline the NME though

Im watching the BBC Music awards. You guys are music fans... can someone please tell me what it is that makes one direction so popular?? They are clearly the biggest band in the world right now and I feel im missing something here, to me they are nothing better then any of the other boy bands.... I don't get it?

What's she supposed to be saying?

My lip-reading isn't the best, but I think she's saying "if you can't see why an act like One Direction are more popular than the quality of their musical output would logically suggest then you must have sleepwalked through the last eight years and have no idea how the modern music industry works, whereas if you do know (which you surely must) but are pretending that you don't because you want to raise a point then do one, stop wasting your time and use it to go and do something more productive".

Clearly I don't know how the music industry works (Actually I know I don't) and slept walked though the last 8 years. Also what point do you presume I was trying to make about them then?

So we're mixing both Glasto and Download's 2014 lineups?

The point you were trying to make is that you don't rate them.

And if you genuinely don't understand why a band of attractive young men singing easily-digestible, bland love songs who have the promotional push of Simon Cowell behind them and the mass media exposure that comes with it are so popular then you need to give me your address so that I can come round to your gaff and repeatedly whip you with a wet towel, because after so long posting on these forums you should not still be so naive/blinkered/clueless.

I stand corrected, got him confused with Bugg, but still, he's a typical example of "let's have some random mainstream act"

Especially if we have some form of more mainstream headliner like Mumfords, but Ed won't be playing this year for the same reason Foo Fighters won't be, too many stadium shows, doesn't need the festivals

Foos could probably play as well but they're elsewhere that weekend. Ed Sheeran is hardly a 'random mainstream act' (which ain't a thing) - he's a headliner now and one of the biggest pop artists in the world, and his R+L days are gone.

Also Catfish and The Bottlemen will either headline the 2nd stage or be fairly high up on Main Stage

Not that big.

    • Monaco comes across to me as something that's great for just watching people driving around, especially this year as it feels like this is a track where they can actually push compared to other circuits where superclipping ruins it, but where the cars seem to have outgrown it.   Though tbf Formula E has had decent Monaco races recently so maybe its a sign of car development philosophy being a factor.
    • Feel like a lot of people do just sit around by the stage at a festival waiting for one act anyway, no? I know Swift has a big mega-fandom - she wouldn't have done so many Wembley shows last year if she didn't - but it's not like she'd be unique in playing a festival and drawing a crowd on that specific day just for her.   But then tbf I feel like there'd be a few happy just to mosy around the rest of the site until maybe 2/3 acts beforehand.
    • Pretty good imo. Though I'm aware my position of being a big fan means I'm biased.   Reminds me a little of Justice, which shouldn't be that much of a surprise given I've heard Justice played a lot in Muse's pre-show playlists over the years.
