Haha yes they have matey. They ripped the Radio 1/NME stage a new one in 2011 and have an impeccable new record due out on the 9th of Sept so yeah no one's heard of them.

By the way WHAT IS MUSIC?

Ripped it a new one? Don't get me wrong I LOVE dfa1979, but they weren't exactly on top form that evening in the NME

I know somebody mentioned The Vaccines going into the studio again but I don't think anyone pointed out they're making a live return (in Asia) this winter. Probably gonna be one of these albums released in time for next summer I guess and they play dates before and after. With two years off I think they'll certainly play whether it's sub or headline; probably sub.

Headline R1/NME as either special guests (a la Nero) or in their own right. Hope they release an album that sounds better played in a dark tent. Could imagine a harder vibe rather than the Beck stylings of the Melody... EP.

I'll get in there before Yellow.

Wrong.

Kasabian coming back is too soon and 48:13 hardly set their fanbase on fire. To be honest I enjoyed it cos it's cartoon indie electronica BUT if they wanna come back and greatest hits it up to the eyeballs with maybe a few more cover/ interludes like 'misralou' and 'video games' then I can think of worse.

Think we'll get RHCP, Foals/ Black Keys and a rapper of some sorts (regardless of what he's said about guitars, the demographic has majorly shifted)

Anyone think of rappers (NOT FISHSTICKS WEST) that could headline and be relevant?

Though Bombay played the same slot as them last time they played and headlined NME this year, I think The Vaccines will be too big for that as they carried on upwards whereas Bombay kinda didn't. I still think it's anyone's guess as to what will become of them but for now I'd say they're too big to headline NME.

There are none other than Drake but I dunno if he'd be right. Frank Ocean in the future but for now not really.

    • Interesting to read. It's mostly why we stopped going a few years back even though it's the nearest big festival to home. The post-exams timing and location makes it a rites of passage first festival for people in a big area. Understandably that leads to a bit of giddiness. Think lineup would need to be a lot more my cup of tea to be enticed back. Friends who are there are having a good time tho and no rain is a good thing for up there.
    • I honestly didn't know it had, I still thought it was where the view overlooked the lake and view.   I think my decision not to attend this year at least was justified. Biffy was the big draw but after Finsbury I knew they wouldn't play what I want to hear again and well work also got in the way. Believed interesting to hear if Libertines were any good as they were also a pull but Sunday did nothing for me really with all my acts on Friday and Saturday.

    • Knocked Loose have been announced for Wacken, that's them at Bloodstock as well   I think they'd headline over Malev
    • I hate tradmill running with a passion lol. Yeah the 1km reps are the one along with hill reps. That's what I did last time.  It's very a very hot summer and job circumstances to stay at the consistent level I was for the marathon earlier in the year. I've got a full set of the main distance new PBs this year. 10k isn't a problem most days but even today I went out deciding just over 5 mile was enough between recovery cruise and steady.
