Atm I have Bastille, Royal Blood and Jamie T in 3rd with Of Monsters and Men, Gaslight and Maccabees in 4th. If any of those aren't there/in different positions then I'd expect to see any of Tame Impala/All Time Low/Frankie T/BMTH in those slots before Weezer. Also don't expect DCFC for this same reason.

Would American Football fit the pit? Not so sure myself

I don't think they would either and neither would Drenge in a high slot on that stage but it is still very good overall. In the unlikely event American Football do play I'd say FR stage (possibly headline?) and that Refused and FIDLAR clash is brutal. Also do people really think that NME will have a dance act closing it every night? I can see one dance headliner and a closing set but I'd have thought at least one Indie headliner to close the stage

apart from deap vally and cerebral ballzy I don't think my main stage can be questioned

edit - obviously you're going to question it

Reckon Mallory Knox would be a slot or two higher, and don't think Billy Talent will be there.

Also I doubt Deadmau5 would be classed as a "closing set". He's probably bigger than any of the actual headliners. He'll be headlining outright like Disclosure last year.

in my head American football are gonna be on that 'slightly softer day' of the pit alongside menzingers and nai harvest and etcetera- I'm just fantasizing really; American football probably won't even be there

I was gonna quote you will, but my laptop gets pissy everytime I press that quote button

anyway, Mallory knox are 7th down on main at download so if they do play leeds they probably won't be higher than 7th down

Oh really? Fair enough in that case; thought they were more popular than that.

I don't remember there being a slightly softer day last year or the year before

Anyway there are a few softer acts (most of them of the softer acts are just Pop Punk bands) but I don't think American Football would fit in with that category, but The Menzingers do no problem at all. If were on about another Mike Kinsella project called Cap'n Jazz....2nd reunion please

My thought exactly with American Football FR headline would be excellent and the pit on the poster does look very strong. (Dropkick Murphys would be cracking)

I think we all seem to agree Knife Party will close the stage and I think DeadMau5 should headline outright (He's big enough). I think the 3 closing sets thing is people trying to justify Rebel Sound being on NME, even with their 'Radio 1' headline set being far more likley to be the dance stage.

That would leave DeadMau5 along with BMTH and Interpol to headline NME with Tame Impala either playing a lower NME slot, the slot Temples have on the poster or not at all imo.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
