I sent RW an e-mail and asked if KoL would close the festival or if we could get another headliner/dance-act on Sunday. I also asked if the signed KoL because negotiations with Foos/Muse or any other band broke down. I got an answer after about 2 min(I'm not joking):

As the person answering this to you, I can’t really give you an answer to your questions (or I can’t - yet)... I assume we’ll all find out soon enough if KoL are the last band on Sunday or not.

I personally don’t know about negotiations with Muse, Foo Fighters or other bands. Though both bands you named haven’t really planned a European tour, at least for now. That might be a very good reason for not having them at RW14, I guess.

Nevertheless, I hope the rest of the line-up can please you and I hope you’ll enjoy the festival in July!

Kind regards,

Rock Werchter

Well now my sulk is over about KOL healining 3/4 headliners I would pay to see is not to bad. I would watch Metallica, Pear Jam and Arctic Monkeys compared to Blur and Depeche Mode last year.

I am Hoping a really strong Barn headliner for the sunday, maybe Portishead/bastille.

Anyway just need to book a hotel in leuven for the tuesday night.

It wouldn't be a lot of money since KoL still asks about 1 million for a festival set, compared to the 1.2 million for FF. Possibly using it to get The Prodigy or Netsky as an extra act after KoL. QOTSA supposedly isn't in Europe during Werchter weekend.

We weren't supposed to know :P But in 2011 a Pinkpop spokesman accidentally leaked the sum Coldplay got for their performance, and a Belgian newspaper did an article on the estimated budgets for all Pinkpop and Werchter headliners. It was fairly shocking to see how at least half of the budget goes to the headliners (Coldplay and Springsteen 1.3, Metallica and Muse 1.2, Rammstein 1, etc).....

    • Sabrina I actually think is alright, but as an overall thing including Fontaines in the mix it does look very boring.
    • I went to the O2 show as had cheap NHS tickets. I did love the whole Machine Gun Kelly vs MGK Emo/Pop Punk stuff amusing and could see that show going down well. I thought it was so funny watching the video skits of a die hard old skool fan gradually morphing in to an Emo Kid. That show with less old Machine Gun Kelly tunes and more MGK Pop-Punk would be ace.   Pair him against a heavy act on the other stage and jobs a goodun,
    • Not sure if this is allowed, but I have an additional daily ticket which I’m willing to sell for a heavily reduced price. If you, or someone you know wants to go that day, but wouldn’t for the original price, let me know.    Edit: It’s for Friday
    • Couple of standing tickets left on ticketmaster if anyone is still trying
    • Choosing  I think boycotting a festival you would usually attend simply because you don't like one of the acts is pretty petulant to be honest, just go and watch a different stage. There are plenty of the usual slam dunk attendees who would be into him, as well as attracting new festivalgoers too.
