Zoo Music Girl
Up Jumped The Devil! Jealous. Amazing (and very long) setlist.
russycarps
wow would love to see a lot of those songs! were they all ballad versions with him at the piano? Though the link to the setlist shows a shorter set of songs (20, no sad waters for example ) Lyre of Orpheus seems a strange choice to end on! I know a few people that dont like him at all though, his voice isnt for everyone. I'm guessing you youtubed more of his ballad-y songs rather than his livelier stuff if you found him boring. I can see how the latest album can be called boring too in fairness.

Superscally
Just your average Wednesday then... I'd love to hear sad waters live So would I OJL, as Russy had pointed out the link has changed. I posted it without checking! I have checked it now and it looks more correct. Still a great set though. If you think that Wednesday was an average one, I'd best not tell you about my Friday... I certainly better not tell Zoo Music Girl

Superscally
It sort of alternated between Nick on the piano solo, though him on the piano with varying degrees of band intervention. From Her To Eternity was fairly meaty, Red Right Hand, Jack the Ripper, Lyre of Orpheus, Up Jumped the Devil and Jubilee Street slightly stripped back (apart from the very end of JS), but the rest were either rightfully low key or pretty novel solo versions. Mercy Seat was one of those wonderful ones. Best version I've heard.
Osama Jim Laden
sounds really nice.. saw him do a 'solo' set years ago with martyn, warren & jim.. remember him belting out tupelo and stagger lee then along with those, as you say stripped down versions.. mind you he did make the entire crowd grown at the opening bar of rock of gibraltar.. Zoo Music Girl
Haha! Great question! He even says so. I like how you said it was off the record and then posted it online... I very nearly asked a question at the Tender Prey film Q&A but then bottled it and just asked one to the directors instead. A compromise! Superscally
Ha, if he said that he'd laid waste to thousands, I'd have kept it to myself and left the the cinema very quickly :-D what did you ask?
Zoo Music Girl
I asked the directors (of the Tender Prey film they made, but the same peeps) if it was difficult to decide whether or not to put themselves in the film as talking heads? I'll be honest, I just wanted to grab Cave's attention... Well done you anyway and a very happy 2015!
