Saw them in Manchester last night. The whole-band mix was really mushy which ruined it a bit, but Jeff's solo stuff was amazing - Two Headed Boy Pt.2 and Oh Comely were particularly stunning. There was such a great atmosphere in the room too. I thought it would be a beard stroking, head-nodding type crowd, but everyone was belting out all the words.

saw them tonight in Manchester. so good! expected the crowd to be a bit w*nky like the guy earlier said but everybody was so up for it. a few people in the crowd were crying (which was a bit knobby, but also pretty cool). everybody was clearly there for the In The Aeroplane… material rather than the rest but was still brilliant regardless

That was a amazing show - it was hard (and felt unreal) to imagine that that was Jeff Mangum up on stage (especially with the beard), but the whole spectacle was incredible. Not the tightest band in the world, but that made it a little more charming and real. ITAOTS obviously got the biggest cheers, but the stuff on On Avery Island was played brilliantly and a fair few people around me were singing along, so the atmosphere was pretty consistant throughout.

Feel a little worse for wear this morning, train wine got drunk pretty quickly.

Really getting excited for this gig after these reviews. I was a bit nervous about how the gig would go but I really hope we have a similar crowd to the one you guys got.

I've been listening to avery a lot the last couple of days and there are some real crackers on there (plus a couple of duds it must be said.)

Sunday gigs are dangerous. You inevitably treat it like a saturday gig and feel dreadful for the first half of the week!

Was there too last night, was a little apprehensive about the gig beforehand and not sure what to expect really. They blew me away. Oh Comely and Two Headed Boy pt2 were both incredible, The whole crowd singing their way through The King of Carrot Flowers 2&3 was unbelievably loud and passionate but Two Headed Boy moved me like nothing else. I'm not sure I've ever been to a gig as good as last night's. Worth every second of the wait.

I've been listening to Avery on spotify a lot recently but I'm a lot more familiar with Aeroplane. Had every intention of buying Avery months ago when I got the tickets but it slipped my mind and the gig has sorta crept up on me.

Well that was brilliant, a proper sweaty gig with an audience who appreciated it and gave it their all. King of Carrot Flowers pt.1, Holland 1945 and Ghost were all wonderful but In The Aeroplane Over The Sea was the highlight of the night for me. I never thought I'd ever see them live so to see them and for it to actually be so good is fantastic.

Phenomenal show! One of the best crowds I can recall being part of for a long time, too! In The Aeroplane Over The Sea, Oh Comely and Two Headed Boy Part Two were all definite highlights.

Starting to consider grabbing a ticket for the Leeds show in August while they're still available.
