Interesting article about FIFA world rankings for the world cup. Amazing that teams like Holland can organize these friendlies without knowing the effect on world rankings. Also completely flawed that clubs can write games off via making extra susbtitutions. I thought when spain did this against south Africa they just didn't want the shame of an official defeat on the record, didn't realize they were doing it for point implications.

It's called losing balance. I could get into the physics of momentum and kinetics, or I could point out that lots of players who lose their balance when their shirt is tugged actually fall over the moment the other player stops tugging.

He's not a player that's had many spells out injured in his career though. I think suspensions are a bigger risk.

I wonder how many other players have missed more games through suspension than injury.

To me "toss up" implies that both sides have an equal chance of getting the position. I still see Man Utd as favourties due to squad depth, fixture list (including home game against Liverpool) and experience in premiership races.

Looking outside Man Utd (who I still see as very likely to finish top 4). if your counting Liverpool, I don't think you can discount everton. Its no fluke that Everton have accumulated the same amount of points as Liverpool so far this season, they have been doing the same for the last 3 or 4 seasons. Also for all the criticism Spurs have had they have accumulated almost the same amount of points as man utd, Liverpool and everton and there are a lot of games left for the squad to gel.
