Glad to see Gerrard donating all his testamonial money to charity, hopefully the days of millionaire footballers being rewarded for years of huge pay (not why testamonials were originally started) by getting another huge payment are over. Whats the betting JT keeps every penny when he has his!

So that's Remy confirmed. Very glad it's a loan deal, and reckon he's the sort of striker we need - someone who can score goals cutting in from a wide position in a 4-3-3, or play moving around a central goalscorer.

Gomis would be a decent signing, but I'd prefer to get a younger striker. He's about the same age as Cisse and plays completely centrally as well. I can't see how we could fit them in the same team and I'm not sure having depth of 27/28 year olds is a good tactic compared to buying 23/24 year olds.

I still don't reckon we'll compete for a Europa spot again though, firmly mid-table, but hopefully top-half.

These Rooney/Suarez transfer sagas are starting to bore me, if either want to leave they should hand in a transfer request (missing out on loyalty bonuses), if they are too greedy to do this they should just get on with the job.

I've been bored all summer with it yeah. Can't think of a transfer window Ive been interested in less.

Big headline news today - Paul Ince thinks Rooney "may need to force a move". Wow!

On a serious note, this window so far has been a bit of a disaster for the top Premiership clubs. Utd have had a total mare, as have Arsenal. Liverpool not doing too much better either. And City have quietly spent 90 million on players who I really don't think are worth anywhere near 90 million.

City's signings have been quality for the most part. Probably overpriced, but Fernandinho was a key component of a very good Shakhtar side, Jovetic is one of the best young strikers around and Navas is close to the Spanish 1st 11. Not bad IMO. Chelsea have done well as well.

When you see whats happening in Frace with PSG and Monaco its clear that the clubs dont give a crap about financial fair play. I imagine a smaller club will be trhown under the bus to prove a point, but the bigger clubs will just carry on as normal.
