I personally can't see JT and Jay Z headlining together, they're headline material on their own, so I can't see V pissing two headline fees up the wall on the same night. Saying that, I can't see JT headlining one night and Jay-Z headlining the other, as they are alienating too many V-goers who but their ticket for the Alternative / Rock bands who play each year. My money in on JT headlining and either Kasabian or Arctic Monkeys headlining on the other night.

In terms of the 4Music stage, I can see Chase and Status either headlining 4Music or subbing the main stage. Avicii or The Prodigy to headline the other night could be a possibility. Example could be another act to headline 4Music, as he headlined several smaller festivals in the UK (Parklife, Wakestock, Rockness) and with his new album due to be released earlier this year, I can see him showing up on the line up somewhere. He's a regular at V and played 2010, 2011 and 2012 and skipped a year in 2013. I can't see him subbing the main stage, but he may also play the same position he played in 2013, which was third down on the main stage.

Outkast have confirmed over 40 festival appearances for summer 2014, so the chance of them appearing at V are pretty high, maybe a mid-afternoon slot on the main or subbing 4Music?

If Kasabian do Glasto, V and that outdoor Leicester gig I'll punch someone. When will they fuck off?

Not a fan then. I think this years V will be the most disappointing yet for the old regulars, the look and feel has changed with the line up so much over recent years.

They did pretty much fuck off after Reading 2012.

You're not going to any of those anyway so why would you be bothered? :P

They played Hyde Park last year...

I'm going to all of them, especially the homecoming show. They'll be at fecking Werchter though, of course. Ugh.

It's not the fact they'd be taking a slot from someone I'd rather see. It's just the fact they're there. They're always fucking there. I feel like my entire existence has been plagued by Tom Meighan.

Yeah but they just did two dates and three warm up dates, that's nothing for them!

If they're at Werchter they'll be in the afternoon won't they? Much better prospect than headlining.

You need to learn not to care about acts you don't like. :P

If they play they would sub at the very least, and it would be a great booking too

If there is a guitar based headliner, I wouldnt be surprised if V chuck money at Foo Fighters with them popping up on some lineups lately, then have Jay-Z, JT etc the other day

If they pulled the foo fighters in that may make me go back, surely more credible saying they'll be at R/L though ain't it?

Could see this happening as I think V will always go with a pop headliner and a band.

Luckysalt said the R/L headliners are Arctic Monkeys - Blink-182 - Paramore/QOTSA, he is very reliable so it's looking like that will be what R/L is.

So with Foo Fighters announcing a US festival in June the only possible places Foo Fighters can play in the UK are V and Glasto. Maybe Hard Rock Calling and BST too but can only realistically see them doing V and BST.

I think Foo's are gonna give UK tests a miss this year, and then return and play everywhere 2015.

They'l headline T definitely in 2015

Yeah I can see Foo Fighters sticking to The Americas this year, unless they've already confirmed dates elsewhere?

They did do a survey in their site last year about which fest to head to, download or R/L were the options I think, might have been a fan site though

    • Deftones, Blink, Muse?   Deftones as the next bump up makes all the sense, Blink as the "band that has never played before" and round out with Muse as its been a long time since they headlined and they have a new album coming which seems on the heavier side from the singles so far.   I could see Muse do their own tour to be fair, maybe MCR in their place? Could also see Deftones switched out for Slipknot/SOAD depending on who is about.
    • I have no issue with the Primavera crowd in most respects. They’re always friendly, respectful and no hint that there could be trouble at any point.   However…the talking is horrific here. The xx was pretty much ruined for me due to people having conversations with their mates the whole way through. Noticed it from all different nationalities across the weekend…English, Irish, Spanish etc. There seems to be no understanding of the nuances of when it’s okay to talk and when it isn’t. And obviously the sound being quiet at a lot of spots on the main stages exacerbates the issue. That alone has made me reconsider whether I will be coming back, it would probably take a lineup as good as this year (unlikely)

    • I found the vibe a little different to recent editions.. definitely an older crowd, less queer, less Spanish.. certainly has something to do with the lack of Glastonbury this year. And I felt Saturday was a little overcrowded. I‘ve never seen Mordor as full as last night for the xx and Gorillaz. Did not enjoy that too much.
    • Not my favourite year either, despite liking the lineup more than previous years. Not sure what it was, I guess Thursday really put the brakes on things. But yeah I'll be back next year hopefully. And maybe Massive Attack will return...
